Sierra has not been as effective as intended since her launch. Her weapon damage is being increased to improve overall output, while the damage increase to Tracking Shot better rewards players for successfully landing it. The Anchor Drone changes improve mobility responsiveness and drone survivability, allowing for more aggressive playstyles. Sierra’s ultimate cost has also been increased due to its already fast charge rate in combination with her improved damage output.
Thank god, but can we PLEASE get some drone movement tech? Why build a character around a mobility-based drone but it dies in one shot and cuts your momentum to a halt the second you reach it?
I should be slingshotting myself back and forth across the battlefield with this thing if the rest of her kit is going to be this underwhelming.
So do they legitimately not actually test the balance of a hero before release? If this doesn’t again show how actually bad all the Devs are at playing this game at a competitive level I don’t know what ever will.
Couldn’t they have just let pros/contenders/top500 players try her for 1 day and gotten this feedback before her release?
Look at her hero stats in competitive. Its horrendous in Master/GM. She’s sitting at a 43%/41% WR. She wasn’t balanced at launch, she was launched weak. She might get into a balanced state of these changes.
You’re right to worry about her getting buffed to emre levels but let’s be real probably will be lw situation even blizzard are cautious about auto aim characters.
Masters/GM really isn’t the best spot to be looking for new characters and their performances.
She has a massive 60% pick rate in Quick Play and still can’t achieve an unmirrored even win rate there. Definitely showing signs of some issues there.
Whether or not these will be enough to bring her up is unclear. She might need some more tweaks, but Blizzard is definitely closely monitoring some issues present in Sierra’s kit to have a hotfix ready this fast.
Release showed that even high level players thought she was broken, then when they adapted they saw her for being underpowered. You can’t just perfectly design things on the first round every time
What high level players thought she was broken OP? Her concept/kit SOUNDS broken, until you actually play her it is pretty obvious after a very short time her actual state.
yeah aaron, no sh… i get developers are lazy and this game isnt getting resource except to make kiriko skins but is really that expensive and hard to test the character before launch? why they stopped making trials, are ow developers the most stupid developers on the industry?
They could legit hire 1 high level streamer to actually test this stuff and take a peek at balance, and this game would have massively better competitive balanced.
oh no not as effective as intended? awe that sucks.
“The Anchor Drone changes improve mobility responsiveness”
WHY.
I thought you guys said “We’re continuing to evaluate mobility across the roster and are targeting heroes whose movement options feel too frequent or overly impactful.”
wish there was some consistency or like, some way of understanding the reasoning
