TL;DR: If you leave during pregame, there is no leaver penalty.
I just got queue where the options were two Flashpoint maps and one control map, but it was Antarctic Peninsula!! It’s an awful map, but I’d take it over Flashpoint any day. Yet everyone was voting for Flashpoint because it was the new map. Nope… not me… so I left after they finished voting, but before the roulette finished. No leaver penalty.
I’ve done this plenty of times, and no penalty. However, sometimes to be fast, I press ALT-F4 to leave because you still get the 5 second “omg dont leave!” warning which isn’t accurate.
EDIT: now I just had a panel of Push, Flashpoint, Flashpoint. Play? NOPE! LEAVE!

ok, and the rest of the people get’s their game cancelled. Cause you choose to leave during pregame.

if it’s QP the match won’t be cancelled. Would suck for everyone in Comp though, I agree.

Oh idk, I just assumed tbh since there is usually backfill in quickplay matches. I luckily never had anyone leave pre-game, (yet). I could totally be wrong then!
If they leave during voting they get a penalty and it closes the lobby. If they leave after loading into the map there is no penalty and it doesn’t close. People have like 25-35s to leave if they want depending on game mode.

Good hack, but good lord, I would play any Flashpoint map over Antarctic! That awful map is the singular worst one in the game, in my opinion.
Fight the system! Bring fraudulence to the Blizzard name!
Its a bug that they are working on. The game should NOT get cancelled.

I find the opposite. Leaving during voting has no penalty. Unless it’s a lot of leaves to trigger it?
No, it has the countdown and penalty if you leave during voting. And cancels the qp game for everyone.
btw, a player leaving during the map choice phase completely cancels the match, even in quickplay.
Yes, you see the warning countdown if you try to leave during voting, but just like with Arcade, it doesn’t apply any penalty if you still do leave.
To get around the warning countdown, I press ALT-F4 and I’m instantly removed. I know it’s not very polite, but I refuse to play Flashpoint or Push so if I see those maps are the only choices, or one of them is winning, I’m leaving the match before it starts.

You are canceling the queue on people then. If you want till you load into the map you can leave without affecting others as much. Assuming you are willing to wait like 5-10s after the map you don’t like is picked.
After the map is picked, leaver penalty.
Also, I actually was in a match where someone left pregame and the match still went through, backfill came in right away. idk
No. There is no penalty after the map is picked and you load in.
People can leave at the same time of a match just like before. People leaving during the 20s map vote cancels the match.
