Like genuinely broken. I get slept and then as I’m falling down to the ground, I get hit by four shots, yet not a single one wakes me up. You can get hit by a concussion mine and it’ll launch you into the air, but you’re somehow still asleep.
It should register any damage after the initial 5 from sleep dart as “wake up” damage. It’s not like the sleep is wasted either because you still have to go through the animations of going down and getting up. It’s fair for both players this way.
Also, as a side note, they still have not fixed the bug where if a person is slept more than once while in the sleep animation, the player’s inputs become more and more delayed. This bug has been in the game since the beta.
Any damage cancels sleep. That’s how it’s always worked. Wake up animation takes 1.5s during which you don’t have control of your character.
Do you have a replay code for 4 shots not waking you up?
How do you get slept more than once? Is this some deathmatch or no limits thing?
It has a grace period after the sleep lands where the target can take damage but not be awoken
This was a quality of life change they made to ana to make it less frustrating when a teammate shot at a target simultaneously as you slept them, immediately waking them up and essentially cancelling your ability.
Annoying perhaps but it was a necessary change to make ana feel fun and fluid to play. Sleeping someone and them being immediately woken up because the same frame you slept them someone else also hit them wouldnt feel great. So to fix that they added a brief 0.5 second or so, basically the animation where the target falls to the ground, where they can take dmg but not be woken up. Essentially the only damage able to slip through is completely random damage from a teammate, nothing that can be exploited or planned consistently
Additionally the chances the dmg that slips through is significant enough to make any difference is minimal. Nothing as drastic as op says where hes acting like he is going multiple seconds taking dmg without being woken up. Chances are if you are taking dmg during that brief window during sleep you are dying there regardless.
There’s a falling asleep animation where you can take damage and not wake up. I’ve always said it shouldn’t exist. All damage is SUPPOSED to cancel Sleep
That was added so that damage in the same frame as sleep dart doesn’t cancel sleep. The animation is 0.5s so I still don’t see how you can land 4 shots in 0.5s. Unless we are counting any and all bullets as shots
Not true. If you don’t get shot in that window, it’s actually hard to die without several people hitting you at once. Ana can’t combo you to death by herself at all, for instance
I never knew about the grace period. Does that mean if you sleep a blocking Doomfist while Bastion is in assault mode blasting him, Bastion gets a free 180 damage while the sleep animation plays, and then more free damage during the wakeup?
Sleep Dart should have been reworked into a soft-CC dart a long time ago. There’s no excuse for leaving in a powerful hard-CC effect on a Support hero, only Tanks should have hard-CC.
I think that’s how it’s intended to be, but I believe it is currently broken/bugged.
Maybe, but not one that I can specifically remember as of recently. There was a Noobhunter clip today where I witnessed it happen to a slept target. They were flung off the map by a Junkrat mine after being slept.
Those and custom games as well. Also if Echo copies an enemy Ana and there is already an Ana on your team. The only way to fix it is to swap characters and lose all of that ult charge.
If that’s the case, then the developers are going against there own words of “wanting to reduce CC” from the sequel. Especially considering that Sleep is the most oppressive CC there ever was.
That is not a quality of life change. That’s straight up just unfair to the slept enemy. If a teammate makes a mistake, they should be punished for it. The whole point of getting good at the game is to minimize those mistakes entirely.
There are plenty of instances where waking up would provide you ample time to avoid further damage. Also, Sojourn can very easily hit 8 shots within half a second, so it wasn’t an exaggeration.
Sojourn can unload 8 shots in half a second. Probably the same for other characters like Soldier who would then be allowed to instantly K.O. you with helix rockets.
You don’t need a code when you can simply do the math.
Sojourn shoots 16 shots per second. That’s 8 shots in the 0.5 second ‘grace period’ Ana has. Junkrats mine takes a total of 0.1 seconds to activate and 0.1 to throw.
It absolutely was not necessary. Even if a target gets “woken up” by damage the frame after sleep dart lands, just the knock down and wake up animations result in a very long stun.
Ana is easily the most coddled character in the entire game.
