Slam --> Uppercut --> Shot isn't , and never has been, a "one shot"

even before the nerf that made the combo garbage, you could react and escape it, failure at this just meant the doom took advantage of your cooldown usage or your own failure to react with an appropriate ability.

nope the one shot was the “rocket punch”. that is a combo as annoying as… hook shoot done.

He hard counters zen like most dive heroes do… not his fault that zen has shield health.

Zen cant escape a single “combo” in the game, using him as a comparison is redundant because there isn’t a single “combo” he can break out of.

doom player here, not a good 1 but…

i think it is a 1 shot, even though quake says it isnt, i mean do you see gm dooms using rocket punch to 1 shot?
no they use slam > shot > uppercut > shot.

I don’t need quake to tell me it’s not a one shot when I can physically see that it isn’t a one shot… I’ve been the on the receiving end of this combo and it’s not a one shot. Most GM players use rocket punch to secure kills and use uppercut slam to get out, punch botting is more effective than rollouts.

Anyway is not doomfist players, the design was terrible from the beginning. At the time people were complaining about cc and one shots and blaming roadhog for the hook, punch combo… precisely a little later…
they develop a brawler character based on combos, only in abilities management with cc, pushes and one shot ability so random that at release was bad for both players of doomfist and targets.
It was a terrible idea, terrible design and with mechanics that were, for so much people so unfun and so hated that he was nerfed just …“because”.
I remember forbes articles like “doomfist is the most hated character in all overwatch” and “how doomfist design was so hated”.

Now, you buff him a little…he obliterates, you nerf him…he is garbage. His design is so bad that goes from one extreme to another. And this is not against the dps players that like him, is a really bad bad designed character and a bad idea, like many characters released by ow, that never made the game “enjoyable” that a frustrating mess.

they use it as a “zero to death combo” not a “oneshot”, you can break out of the ZTD not the oneshot.

problem is before the ZTD acttualy worked before, and took some ammount of skill and prediction to break out of it.

now you have this nice gap to break out whenever.

A buff to uppercut or slam wouldn’t make him better than echo or tracer in the higher ranks. Also it’s not hard to sleep doom as ana when he has the hitbox of a tank, if I’m on ana and they have a doom I’ll save my sleep for him.

youa re right is not a one shot. Anything else?.
I mean he is a bad bad design, you can say that about bastion if you like. Bastion is not a one shot either. Is not played, destroys casuals and in arcade and quickplay mode, only needs a shield and their players feel forgotten cause they cannot reach any rank or high game with it.

what are you trying to say? you would rather Doom had a one shot as his main source of damage instead of a combo you acctually need to execute properly?

one thing is true… Ana do not have an escape ult that lands on doomfist head to kill him without anything to do or nowhere to escape. She has to land the dart which is nor hard… to sleep a doomfist that has to land a punch on her with less cooldown and is even easier.
If you were an Ana, whose nade by the way does too much… and you see a good doomfist, swap to Moira. At the same level of skill, is a win for doomfist.

Instead ana has the second best support ult in the game, the best stun in the game, a good gun for a support and one of the best utility’s in the game.

but god forbid a hero like that is weak to mobile charaters :roll_eyes:

Have you ever played doom? Most of the time his ult gets the hero to 1hp then he gets hit with cc before he can follow up, it’s basically a death sentence especially when you can juggle between walls and take no damage from it.
