Skins are not content

Season 8 is just filler. Where are the new maps, game modes or pve? So tired of the shop being the main focus for players

PvE was already added and idk why anyone would play a PvE game over a PvP one anyways. New maps aren’t gonna come out all the time and that’s a good thing, as we don’t want maps to be rushed. Same for game modes.

It depends on how interesting the skin is. Chained King Reaper is content. Sorry, not sorry.

I mean there’s Mauga and the Battle of the Beasts mode

Season 8 had a brand-new hero, so I’m not sure what the OP is on about.

You got a new map last season, a new hero this season. It’s pretty much either a map or hero every other season. You know what to expect. Plus as usual some events.

Battle of the Beasts is actually low-key great.

Easily my favourite temporary PVP mode in Overwatch 2.

It has a good amount of atrategy and depth and also is surprisingly snowball-resistant.

Meanwhile, during Winter event:

Blizz: ā€œYo, i heard you like Battle Pass, so we added a new Battle Pass (Winter Fair BP) on top of your existing Season 8 Battle Pass so you can spend money (actually OW2 coins but it costs real money right?) on Premium Winter Fair Battle Pass after spending money on your Season 8 Premium Battle Pass.ā€

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure it would seem.

Yyyyyyyeah, so everything in the game is content. Not all of it is the same kind of content, though. Skins are more of a social content.

Don’t get me wrong, though. Skins are pretty worthless as anything aside from being battle pass participation awards, whiiiiiiiiich is really not worth anything, either.

It is still much cheaper to pay the 5 bucks for multiple skins, than the usual 20 dollar shop skins during events. And even without paying, at least get a choice for the free skin to earn.

It might mean more if the skins were not absolutely bottom of the barrel. They are always so generous when it comes to the awful skins. Funny how that works.

That is up for opinion. Personally I think the bap one looks good, and even tho the rein is a recolour, it’s a recolour of an amazing skin.

I do not believe you can get the Reinhardt skin for free, unfortunately. It is not that I hate the Bap or Cassidy skins. They are fine. I am just saying there is a reason the Sojourn and Tracer skins are in the shop and not allowed as an option during this ā€œgenerousā€ pass. :joy:

At this point i would start paying them a separate premium pass to stop making content esp modes and reworks, new hero whatever gotta sell bp.

No, the rein one you need the pass. But it’s still just opinion. I would take the bap skin over both tracer and sojourn. And I play the 2 dps more, and plus I think sojourn really needs a good skin finally, but this isn’t it.

I do think the best winter skin is mercy, and that it will make a killing in the shop. But for 5 bucks the 3-4 legendary skins are prob worth it for many people.

Yes, I get it. You’re an Overwatch player. You hate everything new, yet you constantly complain that there’s nothing new. Yawn. So boring.

That’s definitely the Winter Pass. They put awful recolors in the pass and the best of the best in the shop because that ā€œR34 baitā€ Mercy skin will sell like hotcakes, right?

Those lawsuits are bleeding them dry you know.

I liked the first Junkenstein event in OW2. I liked the Pachimari kill confirmed mode.

I dont ā€œjust hateā€ everything about OW2. I don’t ā€œhate everythingā€ and complain there’s nothing new. I complain that these workshop modes we get are pretty low grade. I guess if you’re into vaugely jungle themed content, this battle pass is perfect for you.

Maybe it’s my fault for always having such high expectations for the game. I guess I should just lower my standards so I can enjoy all this B grade content like you.

Not a PVP mode. Irrelevant.

Fair enough. Although that mode was way more of a ā€˜low grade’ workshop mode than this current one. It was just team deathmatch with an extra step, like most of them have been.
