Skinny tall male characters

Okay so I know there is Junkrat in this game for this body shape and archetype, but why is there just one tall and very skinny character?

I, as a tall and skinny man. I’m an ectomorph on the body chart or a little skinnier. I am just naturally this way and I wonder why my bodyshape is so underrepresented in men across video games.

I for instance have a bodyshape more similar to the women of mortal kombat than the men. It’s simply, because they are copy and pasted medium width and tall and super buff. Women on the other hand come in a variety of sizes.

I just feel very unrepresented for literally no reason. I didn’t really think being tall and skinny was uncommon until I started paying attention to it.

Think about how many skinny male characters are in video games? Like Moira skinny?

Have you not seen Junkrat? The dude is tall AF, he’s just hunched over. He’s almost as tall as Roadhog.

Because games are primarily made by men, and being tall and skinny is generally not a male power fantasy.

So games mostly have buff dudes, and characters that aren’t are often treat as a joke. Like we got Hog, but they went and made the fat dude a pig

it’s because males have a free pass to have a circus going on from a design standpoint. females are “supposed” to be sexy, so even when a character has an unconventional body, their other features make up for it in femininity or beauty. zarya’s got a mannish body but very feminine facial features. I don’t know why it’s so big other than blah blah blah sexism in design but i wish it would stop just so I can have some more attractive men or some women that are just HAGGARD.

Well then you answered your own question which kinda defeats the point of the post. “not good enough” isn’t really an excuse to ignore that the body type you were looking for is in the game. And if you REALLY need to be represented that badly by a video game pretend Moira is a dude if you need to. Heck they gave us david bowie skins to do just that.

I don’t need to be represented. I am saying, why is there such a lack of representation of this body type in all media.

There is 1 character who truly embodies that I can think of and that’s Junkrat. Almost all the women have this body type, but men can’t?

Well, most video games have characters with generically ideal physiques because that’s how humans like to view themselves in fiction.

Variety is seen where relatability rather than idealism is the vehicle of escape (so cartoons and stuff). Overwatch gives you a heavy dose of both.

I wish moira were a man, all the characters i think have fun abilities (aside from sigma) are female, and I just want to look at some nice dude bods while I game without sacrificing fun.

I don’t know why… but I came to this thread expecting to see a comment about Moira, I am not let down, but I’m still upset.

unless you count the female characters, none of whom are overweight, or conventionally unattractive (save for maybe orisa) and only one female character is 60+ (ana) while there are 4 males who are (rein, sigma, soldier, reaper)

That is certainly NOT true. You would know this wasn’t true when the skinny goofy nerdy lead was the trending role in hollywood movies a few years ago. Jay Baruchel, Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Michael Cera. I’m sure most remember the movies they were all in. The goofy guy gets the hot girl movies.

he’s not thicker, he thiccer and I think op is mostly referring to body type rather than skin tone. sigma and reaper are both BUFF, while moira is thin with a flat chest.

There are a ton of nationalities missing representation, races, and other various bodytypes, conditions, or styles.

You aren’t the only one. It’s impossible for the developers to really represent everyone in the planet, especially if there isn’t an opening available in the lore.
