Skill expression should be META - Cheatcode for Devs

Heroes like winston, reinhardt, genji, tracer solider, ana, zen, lucio should be PERMANENT meta no questions asked. (Echo, Dva, Sig, Ram should also be good/great)

The rest of the hero roster should be mid-tier/decent.

Heroes like hog, mauga, orisa, moira, torb, junkrat, pharah should be unplayable (should always have below 0.8% pickrate). It should be a red flag as soon as those heroes surpass 0.8% pickrate.

I basically gave the devs a cheat code to making the game fun forever. Either create skill expression heroes and make them meta (soujourn is somewhat a decent try), or just keep the original OW1 roster that made the game PEAK, to be permanently meta.

It’s no surprise everyone always looks back to OW1 as a game they wish they could play. The heroes that made the competitive scene peak, should be the competitive meta.

You can have moira mercy brig junk pharah hog mauga orisa metas for a different casual mode for the people who want easy/annoying heroes. Keep these out of competitive overwatch though and we’re good.

How is Winston high skill…?
He jumps on you, places a bubble, walks in and out of it while holding left click and people die. If you try to run away he chases you. Pops ult when he’s about to die for a free full heal.

He’s also pretty much been permanent meta in high rank afaik. He’s always been a mainstay in OWL in every season.

Maybe this happens in bronze-gold where the DPS don’t have left-click binded, but winston rein dva zarya are some of the higher skill expression tanks in terms of gamesense and also non-aim mechanics

Zarya?? She literally just bubbles herself and presses w while holding left click.
Zarya is the Moira of tanks.

too bad, i’m abusing mega op easy no-aim moira and succing you to death every match  no genji is safe from me

Hitscan fallacy is real in that statement.

If my hero can’t shoot the hero and kill it, it’s bad for the game, therefore it needs to be bad against hitscans.

Overwatch has sub-roles for each main roles, I would rather have it the other way around as a Flex-DPS. Hitscans are hyper boring.

I don’t disagree. Soldier is the only somewhat balanced hitscan. Notice how I didn’t put cass in there? or widow?

Tracer and genji are NOT “hitscan” in the way you’re thinking either. Neither is echo!

The fact that you put Junkrat as easy is laughable. Oh sure, his play style on paper is simple sounding. However, here is the constant thought process of a good junkrat player.

  1. Do they have shield tanks? If so, is it one i can handle fairly well? If not, can i flank and pick off supports.

  2. What dps am i fighting, is there a pharah? Am i able to handle them if support is with other dps/tank.

  3. Is there a torb? Can i hit the turret safely? If not, i may need to avoid it.

  4. Can i bottleneck the enemy team? If so, how long can i handle it?

  5. If i ult, can i get at least two enemies? Is there a barrier or turret to stop it?

All of this multiplied by 100x is what a genji, tracer or soldier needs to be thinking. My point proven!

Why do you think junkrat, pharah, moira are better in lower elos? makes you wonder!

Skill police are on the job. Stop having fun the wrong way everyone! The last thing any video game needs is a way for new players to learn and join the game. The most successful games get that way by slowly whittling their core player group down to only the most die-heard, high skilled lot. Ideally, they should also be toxic and cry a lot if anything ever frustrates them and their Major Skills.

soldier doesn’t need to think of anything. the hero is just shoot, run, hide, heal and repeat. he’s one of the easiest heroes on the existence of the game and he should never be meta.

Tracer technically falls within both boundaries of the sub-roles. She’s played by both Hitscans/FDPS

Heroes like Junk or Pharah also deserve as much to be played in higher elos. The main culprit of this game is it’s trying to replicate things from OW1 and giving us zombie metas that forever stretch from seasons to seasons.

I know people arguably hate this Pharah rundown lately, but I don’t think people realise just how fun it is to not play the same f* picks as the last 8 years higher up.

This is real dumb. All heroes have some kind of skill expression. You can tell a bad mercy/moira from a good one, just like you can tell a bad tracer/widow from a good one. This game isn’t only about aim/mechanics. I have pretty terrible aim and mechanics but can climb on dps support and tank > and yes I play both “”“non-skill”“”" and “”““skilled””“” heroes.

By the way, it’s your version of fun. I despise tracer, genji, lucio so this would not make the game fun for me.

That’s exactly what they did to comp! Ruined the fun :frowning:

Actually the reverse happened, the high skill lot of original OW1 has completely been alienated. They all have quit and gone.

After brig, moira, etc. release and destroying skill-expression, the community has become more toxic. Need to separate competitive mode to alienate players like these!

Brig and Moira(to a lesser extent) were added because of how oppressive dive was.

If you want them gone or not balanced around being anti-dive, dive needs to be less oppressive.

Dive was never actually oppressive. Calling dive oppressive is a big big reach in comparison to all the oppressive things overwatch 2 has now!

It was never oppressive.

Overwatch is not the game for you. You should find another game where you can have your skill expression.

You don’t even know OW1 history :weary: LMAO
