Six-Stack Shaming

I’m not sure how common it is with others but my friends and I always get a lot of flack when playing QP as a six stack and get paired up against a team of solo-queuers + 2-stacks.

I’m sorry guys, I don’t write the code. I wouldn’t know an MMR algorithm from a Picasso. My friends and I just like to group up and play a game we love. About 95% of the time, we get paired up with a 5-stack or higher but it’s those few moments were we go against anything else and its as if we were caught drowning puppies or something.

Other teams really like to drill down and make us feel guilty for playing with my friends. They make fun of us because allegedly were queuing just to troll or pick on QPers. It’s like they believe we’re doing this maliciously and purposely out to make their game a living hell for the next 5-10 minutes. I’ve heard it all:

“Need to six-stack in QP? Losers”
“Go back to comp where you belong.”
“Hope you’re having fun idiots.”

Is this sort of behavior tolerated? I’m not sure if it qualifies as “abusive chat” amongst some of the other and more important reportable offenses but this goes out to all those who have played against 6-stacks and felt the need to voice their displeasure about it in a rude and unrelenting fashion.

I mean, I get it. When you see a fully stacked team against you it probably means they are more likely going to be more coordinated and communicate amongst each other against the other five randos MMR found for you, thus potentially making the match a bit more challenging. However, is it really necessary to give the players crap when they had nothing to do with who they were matched up against?

Sadly, the only argument I have against them is “find some friends” but that too can be interpreted as toxic. Six-stack queue times are already bad enough as is (going between 3-10 minutes per game) so I already have plenty of patience. However, I don’t like to eat crow for something I absolutely have zero control over.

I couldn’t tell you what the fix should be but I would rather make a new friend from the other team than add someone to my block list.

Usually when I’m in a group with 2-3 other people and go up against a six stack, we get absolutely thrashed (in quickplay, at least). If my friends aren’t being literal salt mines, we put on our tryhard pants and try to turn it back around.

Going against full teams often gives the actual Overwatch experience people claim they want. A proper challenge that isn’t just a coinflip of whether your team gets decimated or not.

But yeah, in the end, there’s not much you or even Blizzard can do about it. It wouldn’t be fair to the team to leave them in a ten minute queue because they’re trying to play a casual game with friends.

haha, just type “CRY MORE, I LOVE THE TASTE OF YOUR TEARS”
There is absolutely nothing wrong with 6 stacking, you SHOULD be 6 stacking instead of playing with randoms.
No matter what you do in this game, there will be someone with low enough intelligence to cry about it. Just ignore them.
