*Sit in queue for 10 mins...match shuts down due to leaver*

Agree. A great amount of changes to this game over the past year were applied as bandaids to the bleeding OWL catastrophe.

They should tag the remaining players to be put at the front of the queue, if they queue again in the next ~5 minutes. Can’t really be abused since they already had to wait through the queue the first time.

Simple solution, I’d be surprised if they don’t already do this.

I aint saying its not a problem I’m just trying to say you dont have to sit there and watch the clock the entire time

They do not do this. You are removed from the match and have to manually start a fresh queue.

2/2/2 would only have worked if it had been in the game from the start, but because the community has had time to “settle”, with DPS being by far the most popular pick, then all 2/2/2 added late on does is push people towards other games.

As for those who are saying things are better with 2/2/2, many people and posts I’ve seen are actually worried about what’s about to come with Sigma and the possibility of a double Barrier meta.

My honest opinion is that this 2/2/2 system needs to be removed, and instead changes to the matchmaking system need to be made. Otherwise, the ones that will be enjoying 2/2/2 the most will be the Battle Royales and other shooters that will be lapping up those leaving Overwatch.

I’d be surprised if they do do this. We’ve asked for it for 3 years now, ever since they coded in that match shutdown stuff. Have they done it? No.

This is something that would have ONLY fixed problems, instead of creating more. But what did we get? We got a 2/2/2 queue system that only exacerbated the dropped matches problem.

You can watch replays and review yourself during Q
Maybe the current matchmaking is broken, but there’s no way there won’t be long wait times for DPS
If games take ~10 minutes, it’s on average 5 minutes for a support to be avaliable to queue with you and that’s if you’re the first in line and that just increases with every extra DPS player in queue
The solution really is for Blizzard to make supp/tank that might get DPS to switch

Not saying there couldn’t be a problem on Q priority, but your times will not be what they used to be even on the best of systems

My interest really started to die with all the Brig nerfs, this dev team can’t seem to balance their own game and the whole ‘nerf’ mentality this community is just so frustrating.

If players were filling/flexing they are not choosing what they want but what the team needs. The moment someone goes ‘I want to play X class’ they are not filling/flexing…

They WANT to dps and play something else because the team needs it, they are TOTALLY filling.

This is the situation they have been in.

Then be quicker with the trigger, what you’re saying also applies to people when said player goes to play DPS as well…

Except they are not the filling if the filler selects first, so they the have to change heroes.

This is the issue.

The most selfish wins.

At least that is how it used to be.

Now you don’t have to be selfish to play dps each game.

That is an improvement yes?

How are they not? The filler choose DPS first cause they themselves want to play it and if the other person is not quick enough they have to fill.

You’re still going to get selfish people even with this system, some players are going to be playing whatever they want even if the hero doesn’t fit with the comp cause they waited so long…

We’re already starting to see people abusing the forced 2/2/2 queue system by queuing as Healer and going full DPS Moira, Ana, or Battlemercy.

Not even kidding.

No you just get 3rd or 4th dps unless the filler goes tank / support.

Yes but they won’t be forcing out the former fillers.

The filler time to play dps is now identical to people who force their DPS.

Lieutenant Augustin here, reporting for duty.

I know you’re not kidding that was bound to happen at some point

Funny, getting 3 or 4 DPS was rare for me. A big chunk of my matches was 2/2/2, even if it did I try to play around it.

But they’re still being selfish tho…

It was rare. Like super rare.

It was the part of the whole anti dps narrative which wasn’t back up by stats, unless you were on qp.

The 4 dps comps just didn’t happen in comp.

The split between roles in the old comp (not qp which was a mess) was almost.perfectly 1/3 | 1/3 | 1/3

Which if people WERE playing the roles they wanted would mean that the queue time for dps wouldn’t have moved.

Same number of people playing dps per game same number of people wanting to play DPS.

No change right?

Except a bunch of people who wanted to play dps were not, and now they are.

The fillers are just queueing as dps because they don’t have to fill.

And the queue time blows out.

Only if they try to throw the fillers under the bus in the name of queue times

But yeah, the reason talking about the fillers are so important, they are the CAUSE of the dps queue blowout.

The filler population is huge.

Yeah with a long wait time to play their favorite class, which is the problem.

You and other people might not care about waiting but for some they do.

It really does boggle my mind why a game company, after 3 years, would suddenly implement a system that punishes players for wanting to play their favorite heroes/heroes they are good at/etc.

Your missing what I was saying.
People were ALREADY waiting to play dps.
They were just filling in the mean time.

They implemented a system which punishes the people filling and the people who instant locked the same.

Before people who wanted to dps but filled has to wait long than they do now to play dps.

Having to choose be selfish but be able to play the class I want, or not, and have 1-2 games a night sucked pretty hard.

Now I get don’t be selfish, AND play dps for 10 minute waits which is cool.

But this, oh, dps queue times are a problem NOW only means you were not filling before.

Because they were a problem before this, you are just seeing it now.

It just being pushy doesn’t give a preference now. So you notice it.
