If by people, you mean, forum warriors, then yes - you’d be correct.
Well, I could use the solution of ‘if you don’t like it go play another game that suits you better’… which, personally, is totally fine with me… but a better solution for both Blizzard and the players would be to create that game within the OW product.
I bet a lot of people offering solutions were told to leave the room which is why we are in this mess.
Not to sound rude but what would be your solution? To keep the game as
It was?
Could just stop playing it. I mean if enough people say, nope. Then Blizzard will change their tune. Money talks after all.
So you want the lock to be reverted as well? You were happy with the game how it was
Yes, that is by far the most logical solution with the least amount of problems. Obviously they should continue their efforts to balance tanks and supports with an emphasis on fun and release more of them so that we have more people to willingly play the roles. But that should have been happening since day 1. It is hard to undo 3 years of awful direction.
You want the return of goats and the like? The comps that drive people away because the game was unbearable. Think you may possibly be in the minority
Nah, what I want is for OWL to play under those restrictions and for them to balance the game around that idea without forcing it. I feel, if it was done properly, people would naturally engage with it. Heck, we already had a nearly perfect 1/3 split anyways.
Let’s be real here. Goats are only a thing in the upper echelons of play. Where I play, that doesn’t exist.
I’ve already posted it in this thread.
I suspect that the interest for this game will wane. People aren’t interested in waiting 10+ minutes for a MOBA shooter game. They will just go back to call of duty or battlefield.
does 2-2-2 provide better games? I think so
Are the long queue times a pain in the ***? Also yes
I like listening to music and playing CoC during the queue time. It’s still frustrating, but its easier to deal with if u have something else to fill the time
And people aren’t going to be frustrated in a video game that’s about shooting people. They can get that from competitors without the waiting game.
it’s frustrating and should be fixed, I agree
I was trying to offer something that would help ease that frustration before it gets fixed.
If they didn’t , they were fill players and thus couldn’t play dps most games. they were already punished
They already have our money. That’s the problem. We bought a game we enjoyed playing, and then after they got our money they turned it into one that we didn’t pay for.
And this speaks even to the people who believe it needed to be changed: why did you pay for the game and passionately play it, if it wasn’t the game they wanted to play before 2/2/2? They could have put their money where their mouths are, and just walked away, ya?
Changes like this do nothing but drive players away from a game they once enjoyed, but not longer do. Changing it to cater to people who think it needs changes, but won’t leave in order to prove it, should be Blizz’s indicator that it really wasn’t a problem at all.
In fact, this argument can be made about a lot of things Blizz arbitrarily changes.
They have your upfront money. The twitch views will tank from lack of interest. OWL will be disbanded and then the support for this game will come to a close. You know, business 101. No advertiser interest, no OWL games.
People play the game, after paying for it, to fill the time. That’s the point of buying the game to play it.
If one must play another game to fill the time in between waiting to play a game they paid for, then that’s a serious problem.
They should’ve also made queuing up for multiple roles not a joke. You should be able to queue up as a primary and secondary role at the very least and have the match making try a LITTLE to actually find your primary role.
For the majority of us, selecting 3 roles and queuing is not flexing, it’s Tank 90% of the time, heals 10% of the time, and DPS 0% of the time.
There’s a lot of things sloppy and not completed about the 2-2-2 queue system. It feels pretty obvious it was rushed out to save OWL.
