In Ukraine&Russia(Especially), Armenia-Azerbaijan and other war zones, the sound of a siren is extremely disturbing and makes you get distracted and take off your headphones to discover that the sound is not coming from the street but from the background.

If anything, i am from Russia and have been supporting Ukraine since 2015(Yes, in 2014 I was deceived by Putin’s propaganda) and I am outside the combat zone and extremely far from the zone of military conflicts.
But for those who are in Ukraine or in Russia on the border with Ukraine, these sounds make them wary and take off their headphones to listen.

I agree, I said the same thing to myself yesterday. (Although in the US, not Russia or Ukraine) I just thought to myself why would they put that in here, not a good time for that sound.

I would normally disagree with statements like this because games may be played decades from now, but it is impossible to preserve this game for future generations (thanks blizzard for THAT BS and no dedicated servers), so your opinion is totally valid.

No disrespect, but you can avoid hearing it by simply sitting in a different menu. That sound only happens on the main menu, so if you just sit in any different menu, hero gallery, BP, profile etc, you won’t hear it.

I understand the situation for a small portion of players, but there’s no reason to remove it for the unaffected larger portions as it does add ambience. I do wish they would add an option to turn off all main menu sounds/music though.

game makes false alarm and misunderstanding

there’s no reason to remove it

Ah yeah, I remember now. Russian/Ukrainian players are not supposed to ever exist…

I live in a city where there happens to be gun related violence on a near nightly basis.

I want all gun related sounds to be replaced with something softer or cuddly as I don’t know if the gunfire or the sounds of bullets flying by me is really happening outside or not.
Also remove the sounds of blades slicing the air or flesh. I cut myself working in the kitchen a while ago and that was a very traumatic experience. I lost a lot of blood and everytime Genji uses his blade I flash back to all the blood. Please remove all blade weapons or abilities in game so I and others who have been in blade related incidents don’t have to relive that Trauma.

keep the politics out of this forum

it’s baked into the game. look at how woke the player icons are. entire set of flags i had no clue existed.

It’s not really politics. It’s just recognizing the unfortunate fact that some people live in warzones. So, if the air raid sirens could be disabled for them that would be a cool thing to do.

If I were in a Warzone, I wouldn’t be gaming with my headphones as my PRIMARY CONCERN would be ensuring I am as ready as can be to seek shelter at a moment’s notice.
It’s like those types who make all the wrong decisions in a horror film (splitting from the group, investing a strange noise in the dark by yourself, not continuing to beat the slasher with the bat while they are unconscious until you hear their skull cave in, etc) so playing a war game, using noise cancelling headphones or just generally obstructing your hearing DELIBERATELY in AN ACTIVE WARZONE…
It’s just Darwinism at work.

i use a speaker system, the first time i booted season 6 i unironically thought we had a siren going off

When I was younger, I never expected people to play videogames in active war zones. But that’s a thing

So, I am not in a war zone. But, I work at a company that has employees in multiple countries. I do have a couple of direct reports that live in Ukraine. And I interact with others who live there on a daily basis. Despite the need to find shelter occasionally, it’s kinda surprising how “normal” their day-to-day is.
