One of the biggest names in Overwatch has quit. His biggest reason being hero bans and second big reason 2-2-2 role queue.
So I started Overwatch 6 months ago, I am a GM DPS now 6 months later. I started OW right when role queue came out, I can speak from experience on hero bans. I just think they’re terrible and driving players away from the game, including myself and I just started this game. It’s really a garbage system which feels built for Overwatch League placed upon us competitive play players. Want to log in and try hard with your favorite hero in some competitive Overwatch? Nope, sorry your favorite hero is banned for a week haha, oh look your favorite hero is back this week… but wait your favorite hero is banned AGAIN the week after that! Hahahaha so great, right? Others can speak on role queue but I don’t mind it but like I said I don’t have much thought before role queue. I do wish sometimes though I could swap to a tank in ranked to pick up slack. With hero bans you should literally just ban every hero besides 2 tanks, 2 DPS and 2 support… cause that’s basically how it feels at this point. Everyone should just play the same exact heroes because Blizzard wants to force how you play the game. Less is not more, how about we release more heroes to shake up the game instead of taking years to add a few heroes. We need meta shifters, not meta systems.

Not surprising at all considering it takes somewhere between 20-40 min to get into a DPS game at high ELOs

2-2-2 is killing this game, even if it increases the quality of a match, people aren’t willing to wait 10 minutes for a quality match, its the reason I NEVER play 2-2-2 and stick exclusively to classic QP. Even me queueing as support takes 5 minutes half the time, I would rather be mercy with 5 DPS than have my gaming session be 50% watching youtube videos.

Some people need that competitiveness in their life, like I myself cannot do anything that isn’t competitive. I want to play a very competitive game but that’s fun, limiting heroes is not fun.

I feel like we’re one iteration advancing Workshop to complete modding access before we all just move over to custom maps and game modes. I really like it as it is. Just a bit more and I would never need comp or QP again.

The fact this game will have no new content (new heroes/maps) for another year or so will make things that much worse.
Sure we may get UI improvements and ofc cosmetics but that’s pretty much it for OW1.

??? That simply means it doesn’t matter to me… not being able to swap roles mid game hasn’t bothered me or made me think this game sucks. I know it has for others though. So I don’t have an opinion, others with previous experience can say what they want about it. I know my friend has said he liked no role queue better.
My passion for the game died with 2-2-2, loved how sometimes we got crushed by a team with 4 supports and 2 dps or when we crushed teams with GOATS, nowadays it’s pretty boring, the game is soulless to play and soulless to watch (owl)

Dva is my 2nd most played hero, doesn’t mean I want to play tank exclusively.

I called it when it first came, I said that after the honeymoon phase with 222 it would slowly suck the life out of the game.
here we are and players are leaving left and right for anything and everything else
a game that marketed as a competitive fps, but doesn’t do anything to keep its integrity as a competitive fps because low level players, and casual players don’t like it is doomed to fail.
they spent forever trying to please both the competitive and the casual crowd and the game is a husk now because of it

As someone who wanted 222, i had no clue between the differnce in popularity between tank and dps. Now that i know, i wish there was not the old system OR this system.
