Simulating a Sideways Map

I was messing with the workshop for a bit when I thought of the idea of shifting gravity to move you towards a wall rather than the floor. Player gravity would return to normal when touching a control point, payload, etc. On top of this, I would also need to rotate players/cameras and change what surfaces are considered to be “grounded.” Does anyone have any suggestions of how this could be achieved? If a developer reads this, is it even possible to do such tasks? I think this would make for an amazing gamemode. Picturing leaving the Attacker’s spawn on Anubis and falling straight onto the first point while a Bastion secured to the wall tries to mow you down fills me with excitement. If this isn’t possible I understand, but I have hope.

You can accomplish at least part of this by lowering gravity, applying impulse to characters in one direction at all times, and overriding their jump to apply impulse in a different direction.

Just a thought. Hope you figure out something awesome.

Unfortunately this isn’t possible with the current system. The controls, camera, animation, etc… systems always expect up to be up.

You could just rotate your own screen with:
Ctrl+Alt+Left or Ctrl+Alt+Right

To reset
Ctrl+Alt+Up

Unfortunately this wouldn’t apply with the camera relative to the ground.

You could use SakasaMouse to rotate the mouse orientation, I haven’t tried it though

Inverting the controls shouldn’t be a problem. The problem would be just about everything else.
