I just got silenced for 14 days. im very careful what i put in the chat in-game so I really cant understand why. And im i the only one thinking its weird getting punished without telling me what i did wrong? The only thing they are refering to is " Terms of Use and End User License Agreement" and I still dont see how i broke some of that rules.
They wont answer my question at all and it felt like i was talking to a 9 year old child trying to be difficult. im 32 years old and its very frustrating, but maybe im to old for this game?
On a old user of mine I got instabanned after massreport so I feel like the rerport system is kinda broken?
The massreport I was talking about was when I played quickplay and everyone was emoting and just trolling on payload, ignoring enemy and so on. I played like the game is supposed to be black and then I got banned. Again blizzard could not give me a reason at all just that i have broken one of their many invisible rules.
If im not gonna do the same mistake again, I need to know where to draw the line, what I said wrong. They dont understand that. I cant read minds, wtf.

You canât be banned for being mass reported in one game. They have gone on record and said that this would be abusable by groups, or just teams looking for a scapegoat, so if you got reported by 9 people in a match, it still only counts as 1 report.
You have to be reported in multiple matches by different individuals in order to be punished.
As for what you did, we canât help you. Apparently if you submit a support ticket you will eventually get told what rules you broke.
Bear in mind that if it was for typing stuff, the examples given donât usually make much sense because they seem to be generated by AI, itâs usually the context (being inflammatory, irritating, in-fighting, etc.) thatâs reportable, and rarely the actual words used.

Im not flaming, irritating or anything. I have issued a ticket but at no help.

itâs not us you need to convince, itâs support. they will not listen. itâs ai generated. they do not care. you will get an ai generated response. you just have to wait out the 2 weeks. you have to get reported a lot to get a 2 week suspension

I know I dont need to convince you guys, but this must be a real problem? I dont get told what excactly I was doing wrong, so im probably gonna do the same again? On my old account I was silenced 14 days and got some warnings. Thats also the reason why im so careful what I do or say ingame. I did not get warnings this time.
Its sus the time I got massreport and Instabanned right after leaving match at my old acc.

From what I can tell, people either get reported for consistently adding negativity in some way if theyâre legit being reported for inappropriate communication. âGG, we have a Doomfistâ or âsupport diffâ or the like.
For false reporting, you would have to be doing something that would draw attention to get enough people to false report you:
continually playing a âthrow pickâ because itâs your favourite thing to play, somehow always finding yourself in a lobby where your performance stands out as too good or utterly game throwingly horrendous, bagging enemy corpses, or even saying GG when you stomp an enemy team.
No one here can give you answers, but please do file a ticket and let us know what exactly got you silenced.

Sounds like you need to buy more bliz coins.

I have filed a ticket but they still wont say.
** Your ticket has received the following response:
Greetings,
This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies ( Blizzard Support - Blizzard's In-Game Code of Conduct ), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing. These policies and conditions allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment for all of our players.**
I dont say things like âsupp diffâ or âgg we have a doomfistâ i know i can get reported for that.
Itâs a waste of time to appeal. The mods are trolls. Theyâre messing with you because thereâs no accountability for their work. They donât read appeals unless itâs for cheating I believe. For everything else, they just copy and paste the same non sequitur response to everyone. No matter how many times you message them, you are not going to get a relevant answer about whatever you supposedly did.
My advice is forget about it and move on. The mods are toxic, dishonest people that arenât worth sacrificing your mental health for. Itâs not in the companyâs best interest to overturn your ban anyway. Itâs in their best interest for you to make an alt. That way thereâs a chance of you buying the same skins again.

Thats what my friends says about WoW. Alot of botting there but they dont get banned cuz blizzard makes money of it. Once in a while they to a âban waveâ to please people. I dont use any money on overwatch anymore, I also asked for a refund for OW2 but didnt get it. I misunderstand and didnt know the game was free. But now I understand why tough.
I also dont have alot of phone numbers so I cant make alot of accâs.

The point being made is right. You did something consistently to get false flagged repeatedly.
Spamming voicelines? Spamming anything on the comm wheel? Playing dps support? Struggling with sombra/widow?
Playing a lot or having long game sessions repeatedly also increases your chances of this. Do you play a lot? Like a lot lot?
Something is there that you did, thereâs always something people do that they omit in these threads.
Best of luck regardless OP.

Is there an option like âno, this didnât resolve my problemâ? To resubmit the ticket and try to get some human response.
I think youâre well within your rights to keep asking until you get an answer, you could even try specifying âI need to know exactly what I did wrong, because I genuinely have no idea what rule I broke and so am likely to unknowingly do so againâ
Yea I do play alot but is that an offence?
Spamming voicelines? Spamming anything on the comm wheel? Playing dps support? Struggling with sombra/widow?
No I do not.
I did specify it, but I get same response everyday. Since I have alot of freetime im gonna send a ticket everyday until I get a response from an adult human.

Nah u donât.
I had played for 2 days after a longer break, about 4 hours a day. Had directly 14 days of chat ban without having used the chat in the 2 daysâŚ

I logged off OW before going to bed, next day I woke up I had 3 or 4 warnings at once and 14 days of silence. That have never happend before.
On my old account I had maybe 3 or 4 warnings over a long period of time not over 12 hours.

People on the forum will acknowledge stomps but donât think about the losing team false reporting. I got warning screens and suspensions on a 2016 account only in late 2023. Its something tweaked on Blizzards side or abuse.

Silly question, OP: Have you specifically asked for examples of speech against ToS from your chatlogs? If so, you need to point out that you are entitled to request this information that they hold on you, legally speaking.
They donât keep voice logs for long, but text logs stick around.
It might take a few tickets, but keep trying.
Yea I have asked for that, but they just answer ** This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies ( Blizzard Support - Blizzard's In-Game Code of Conduct ), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing. As someone over here said, the answer is AI generated and it feels like talking to a computer.

Which is strange considering everyone knows the losing team also scapegoats, and the people who get scapegoated are also labeled as âthrowers.â
I donât get why people are against a more accurate system that actually detects toxicity versus report based banning.

You will get those in the hopes you go away and stop bothering them⌠donât stop bothering them. Even if you have to wait until the silence finishes, keep opening tickets with them. Annoy them until they have to speak to you using a real person.
