Silenced for 13 days due to abusive chat

the first day i come back to overwatch after a 5 day trip into the boundary waters canoe area with no service, meanwhile i havnt used voice chat in years except with ppl i know and havnt chatted in general in 1 in 8 games, this screams mass reporting from ppl who either dont like me leaving qp games or ppl who dont like my playstyle

Meanwhile you get people moaning that reports do nothing.

Sounds to me like this is evidence that reports are doing something after all.

It’s fine, you can just open a ticket and they’ll see in the chat logs that you definitely haven’t said anything toxic

I’m still surprised they don’t have an AI that automatically reads reports for flagged words and phrases.

If you haven’t been in voice chat or typed anything you can easily appeal this

If there’s one thing that I know from playing games with my friends, it’s that this guy definitely did it.

And possibly is smurfing.
Next is buying hacks.
He will then claim he did none of these things.
Fail appeal.
Buy an account.
Become addicted to drugs.
Have a religious awakening.
Finally, he’ll become a pastor.

It’s a slippery slope…

Or he’s innocent, idfk. 50/50

I’m not sure they’d make that public even if they did.

Why would they pick abusive chat and not gameplay sabotage or something? Sounds like maybe you did type something naughty. Also reports like that stack up, so even if it was just one person who reported you, if you already had like 19 reports piled up from over the years, that one report might’ve been enough to trigger the ban. Especially since a first offense is usually just a 24 hour ban. Meaning you’d likely been chat banned before.
