The problem is not my mechanical skills or positioning…
My map knowledge and game sense is totally fine… I just. miss shots…like a LOT of my shots don’t hit.
This is actually depressing duuude, i can’t win a Genji one v one against some of the worst Genji players, feelsbadman…
How do i stop missing those damn shots??
so frustrating man.
You’re not alone
There’s a reason Genji counters Genji

Maybe try doomfist? With hitscan i use mcree stun and ashe dynamite when he is alone or there are no healers.
I main Doom, i am really good with him, i just like Genji as well, but the fact that i am so slow at getting kills/lose every 1v1 frustrates me a lot dude.
They added this cool option with Genji, you go to spawn, hit “H” and there’s a short chubby girl named mei, you pick her and you win overwatch!
Mei is so boring to play bro -_-
Don’t track Genji as Genji, you rapidly flick to his body over and over. I win most Genji 1v1s due to certain tricks and nuance that most players wouldn’t pick up on such as timing and execution in those duels.
And whatever you do, DONT waste Deflect first, chances are the Genji will just Deflect back and you’ll lose due to him having more duration, OR he will dodge the shot and Dash while you’re Deflecting.
I wish to learn more from you.
Please share more of your knowledge with me
hit deathmatch as you wait for a game, pick fights with other genji players and you will just improve overtime from the routine practice.
i do this with a lot of heroes i play.
If a lobby has a lot of tracer and genji i play widow as those are hard match ups against her.
if the lobby has a lot of mccree i play tracer.

Well I mean there’s a few more tricks…
Firstly, as per usual Double Jump spam can be pretty bad, use it as a dodge rather than as a main form of movement, as the falling animation makes you easier to track or in this situation be flick shotted.
Swift Strike is also a key to victory in Genji 1v1s, hitting more Dashes faster usually increases win chances drastically. Using it and being able to quickly 180 and fan into your opponent also increases those chances as well.
Wall climbing to reposition should only be done near ledges or short walls that give easy access to high ground, or you can wall climb as a way to gain a higher elevation over your opponent [I.E. climb up a little bit, jump off, jump again, fan and melee, kind of like an air strike].
Another good thing to keep in mind is that Genji vs. Genji is similar to Genji vs. Tracer, it’s not only a battle of mechanical skill and aim, but also a battle of reflexes, as the faster one will usually win. Not only that, but mind games are heavy in this 1v1, if you can bait the enemy Genji into doing something that will grant you an advantage, you’ll win a lot more. [A trick to bait Genji’s Deflect out for most heroes is to use quick melee, though in Genji vs. Genji it’s debatable since it doesn’t look like he’s using any ability, it works for Mccree since it looks like he’s throwing Flashbang, Hog for Hook, etc.]

Play Doom. I’ve seen Genjis get destroyed by Doom so bad that even I felt bad for them, and I hate Genji.
It takes more effort to shoot a Genji then it takes the Genji to jump and bounce around your head
Doomfist vs Genji is a strange one.
A good Genji should rarely lose to a Doomfist, as Doom’s huge hitbox allows for easy poke and combo landing while staying out of his range, and a perfectly timed Double Jump negates Rocket Punch.

Mobility is supposed to make you more survivable, so I guess that’s kind of the point?
Mobility will never be harder to use than accuracy due to the sheer nature of how each must be implemented. It’s nearly impossible.
Can confirm.
My friend is good at Genji i tried dueling him as my best hero ( Doomfist )
and so he dominated like 78% of the time.

All it takes is one Rocket Punch and Genj’s gone. If that Doom is good with Diag punches (or whatever it’s called) and combos, there’s no chance for little ninja boy.
Doom can’t Punch you if you’re not on the ground. Only a bad Genji will be outplayed by a Doomfist by being punched, or a good Genji that made a misplay.
