Sick of Cheese Characters and "Easy Win" Comps

I am so tired of the matches where my team is winning in QP, the enemy team all swaps to easy cheese characters (Moira, Orisa, Sombra, etc), we get stomped and no matter how hard I sweat my absolute brains out, we lose.

I just had a match where I was playing as Lucio, flanking and getting picks on supports and dps, knocking the tank off of ledges, being super evasive. I only had 2 deaths the entire match and 30 kills, and my healing wasn’t bad. Managed to save people many times with amp and ult.

Enemy team eventually gets mad and they go Orisa, Sombra, Venture, Moira, Lifeweaver. The cheesiest comp you could possibly do, I believe.
They immediately start winning. I stick with Lucio and sweat my brains out, manage to kill their Moira several times and continue to be super evasive. There were many instances where I managed to lure someone to a cliff and boop them off. I survived attacks from Moira with 20 health left just by being super evasive and sometimes throwing myself off ledges on purpose only to wallride below it, go around and get back up, come back and kill them.
I’m pulling out all the stops and doing everything I can, and so is my team, but it doesn’t matter.

Even still, against this cheese comp, we manage to survive for a while. We hold them off but they always push the payload to the next objective.
We didn’t stand a chance even though we all coordinated, worked well together and tried really hard, because we didn’t pick cheese to counter the cheese. We didn’t win because we didn’t pick cheese to combat the cheese.

This is very common. It sucks. It feels so unfair.
I’m so sick of this happening. Just this “No, you don’t get to play who you want. Swap your ENTIRE team to counter every character on the enemy team or you lose and have no chance.”

If you can’t deal with “cheese strat” or “cheese hero” it’s a skill issue.

You misspelled “cheese”.

Why didn’t you go defensive lucio and heal your team?

Thanks, fixed the misspelling

I healed them the whole match, I didn’t have speed boost on 100% of the time. I just went off to get kills sometimes, harass the backline, draw fire or distract them and pull them away.
During big teamfights where a lot of damage was taken I swapped to be much more defensive.
Not sure why you’d assume that I never healed them.

Fair enough, unfortunately Boostios are too common now

Love when the entire enemy team swaps because they can’t deal with my hero pick. Surely I will switch to deal with their current comp and if my team does not adapt, we deserve the L. Thats how it is buddy :man_shrugging:

Remember that you’re playing counterwatch. No matter how well you or your team is doing, if you want to win you have to swap and adapt.

Skill issue written by a mercy main who doesnt need aim, positioning and cooldown Management, hilarious

ssowhat heros are you playing then

Trust me that is not the cheesiest comp you could go.

So the enemy team adapted and swapped, while your team stayed on the same heroes?

They swapped to characters that require counters or you lose. You can’t just play anything into these characters, that’s what’s infuriating. It doesn’t matter how good you are, you literally cannot beat a comp like that unless you swap.
Also I really wouldn’t call swapping to those characters being tactical and adapting. They are anger swaps for when the person playing thinks “screw this i just want to win”, because everyone knows your chance of winning immediately goes up when you swap to them. Tanks regularly swap to Orisa when they die too many times and get mad. They don’t swap to Rein or Hog or Junkerqueen, they swap to Orisa. Same with DPS and Sombra, and Support and Moira.

If they had swapped to anything else, we still would have won because we were better strategically in gameplay. Yes, we didn’t swap, though one of our DPS swapped to Reaper, but we shouldn’t have to. Teamplay and strategy should overcome swapping. It’s infuriating to be beaten just because the enemy team swapped to specific characters.

Remember that you’re playing Overwatch. No matter how well you or your team is doing, if you want to win you have to swap and adapt.

If you’re not going to swap, you’ll need to do adaptation. Doesn’t sound like your team adapted.

We did. I changed up my playstyle and went more defensive and changed who I targeted when I went on attack. Our tank swapped his playstyle too, and one of our DPS even went Reaper to try and do something to Orisa.
It literally does not matter. You have to all swap.
I will be muting this thread now as I can tell from this point forward it’s just going to devolve into “you suck that’s why you lost cuz ur bad”. Which was actually the very first reply I got.

You think Mercy doesn’t need these?

That’s delusional lmao, she most certainly needs them.

Nothing is cheesier than lucio perma wallriding and booping people. You got what you deserved

Brother, if they change their whole team comp to counter you, least you could do is swap yourself. For that comp, I’d recommend Brig (just a general menace against backline flankers) or even Zen (actually stands a chance 1v1 against Moira, Sombra, Venture, even better chance if helped by teammates). Take it as a compliment that you got them that tilted, and do what your team needs.

So again they played heroes in which every single character you listed that they swap to, DO IN FACT HAVE COUNTERS, swapped to counter your team and you didn’t try to at least swap to heroes to provide more optimal value? What was YOUR team comp consists of?
