Should symmetra have Base damge?

im no sym main , but i think one of symmetras biggest problems is her having to charge up her left click , which to be honest isnt easy if you arent charging it from a shield or a tank.
i think that her left click would be alot better if it had base damge , what do you all think ?

I think it just needs much more range. At least double what it has now.

The problem is not her damage, the problem is her mobility to actually utilize her left click.

If she was extremely mobile like Tracer - her left click would be a non issue, even if it was hard to target - she would at least be able to survive by dancing around the enemy.

Thanks to her range and 0 mobility - she has no hope of surviving a fight with her M1 in play.

Because it’s consistent damage, no. Her problem is she’s close range, low health, no mobility. Fix those and she’ll be fine.

my issue isn’t really surviving with her. I can do that just fine. It’s just the range for me. I pick and choose the right moments to enter the scrum and clean up. But the range is kind of pitiful

She has quite a lot of mobility with her tp tbh. You have to work around her short range and have an escape plan in mind before you get into risky situations if you hope to charge your beam to max.

How is it consistent damage? It doesn’t lock anymore.

Personally I think the charge up mechanic is/was an interesting and unique concept in theory. She is more dangerous the more you let her do her thing, and that is cool to me.

The problem isn’t the charge up, the problem is the nerf they made to her primary fire when they wanted to solve the exploit happening on the PTR.

A lot of people who didn’t already have an issue with the weapon felt it was in a good place before that nerf. I don’t know how else they could have fixed that exploit, though, I am not a developer.

Don’t use her left click as your primary attack. Use your right click.
Only in a brawl and choke point will she get value out of her left click.

Or, you can do what any sensible player does, and forget her M1 exists. Use the M2 - it’s better nearly all of the time.

True true, but this doesn’t solve the problems her primary fire has.

Moira is consistent damage and she doesn’t auto lock. Consistent damage is just a steady flow of damage.

why would I ignore her M1 when i get plays of the game with in scrums?

This is so far from accurate.

Learn WHEN to use her M1. M2 is great, but a max charge M1 is monstrously strong.

So you want Symmetra to have a 20 meter beam? That is absolutely horrifying.

Because for every one time you do that there’s at least 9 when someone on the enemy team has a tiny bit of awareness, catches you, and effortlessly kills you.

From my experience. Build ups on 3.0 that won’t radically change much about current build/require too much coding.

I mean, it’s just a Zarya beam. It’s totally dodgeable.

When they said her new primary fire would have more range than the old iteration, I expected a range between Sym 2.0 and Moira. I think her new range is like 1 meter more than her old drop-off.
