With proper technique, a super enhanced cyborg probably could parry a rocket hammer, not matter the size. Hell, a regular human may be able.
If Rein did gain the ability to swing through deflect, Genji would feel so bad to play, tho. Only beams go through deflect and those drain your health down. Having a chunk gone instantly would suck.
you never saw the diablo vs genji cinematic did you? He deflected the giant bell in hanamura. I think he can handle a german guy.
As for a serious discussion, Really? A cyberninja capable of evading damage from a hammer is too much to be believable to you? And you’re completely fine with hack preventing soldier from running or a flashbang stunning turrents and junkrat trap, or a flying robot being trapped in a beartrap or symmetra creating objects from light itself, or d.va standing next to her own GIANT mech turning into nuke and not even feeling it,etc?

A Genji who messed up and is now in melee range of a Reinhardt, he panicks and spams Deflect, nobody can do something about it and he escapes. He should be punished by being smacked by a rocket powered hammer, just as Brigitte would be able to punish him for screwing up by being able to melee him and Shield Bash him through Deflect.

Probably best to argue this from a gameplay standpoint, reinhardt has no melee ability due to his standard attack, making genji’s deflect able to nullify the hammer swing twice over. should more melee type character be added it means 2/3 of the attack types are vulnerable to deflect. But as of right now the 2 characters that don’t have a choice in melee are basically cancelled by deflect, and at least brigitte can just shield bash, rein HAS to wait.
no. it’s Reinhardt that should charge him in to oblivion when he deflects. So he’s gonna think twice before messing around swirling a sword to defend himself!
I still don’t know how the weeb sword can deflect fire strike…because…you know…it is fire…

Unless Genji has the strength to stop a fighter jet in mid flight, then he should be squashed like a bug under Reins hammer.
I’ve seen too many of these “jokes” in these deflect threads where people try and apply real world physics to deflect and only deflect. See above with having to deflect a bloody jet mid flight in order to be strong enough to deflect rein

its not a joke, its a rocket powered hammer, we have seen it smash through bastions as if they were made of plastic, and mostly was going for the “technique” thing, if someone who thought they were strong enough to hold back hundreds of pounds of force tried to do so, the only thing left would be a fine red mist.

If Rein hammer has the force of fighter jet, it shouldn’t do 75 damage. It should one shot every hero besides D.Va and Reinhardt himself.
