Should moira be reworked?

yet… I was called a thrower when i picked Moira for goats, ok buddy. I got avoided so many times during goats that I many times recieved a “you have been avoided blah blah blah” warning… so I just started playing tanks again.

Pretty much, anything which requires a lot of aim will be more effective on EVERYTHING else which isn’t mobility heroes.

So there isn’t a high skill counter, because there can’t be without it being completely OP to everything else.

People that AREN’T pros (and even some that are) are honestly just starting to understand how GOATs worked. Ask any half decent coach and they’ll tell you the same thing.

Right that is why OWL all ran zen, brig, lucio… but okay.

oh and btw in master and gm they also ran zen, brig lucio lol needed to add that in

That’s because it’s false equivocation. It isn’t Moira countering Genji, it’s Grasp countering Mobility.
If you broaden that falsehood you get stupid situations like ‘Hog counters Echo’ because Hog can OHK her, when it’s obvious that Hook counters Squishies, but Echo’s mobility keeps her away while being able to use Hog as a pure ult battery.

High-mobility needed a counter, and supports needed an answer to flanks. In so many different ways, Moira was a brilliant design by the devs, there were clear holes in the game and Moira patches them up. Perhaps a little too universally, and the jobs could have been split among two heroes, but still.

Moira was one of the best designed heroes that Blizz have made so far, but too many people refuse to actually look at anything but surface-level methods and criticise the whole design based on that, while completely ignoring the heroes role. Everyone does it with pretty much every hero.

I say again. It’s better in a goats v goats matchup. If you know the other team will play goats, WHY take the worse support in a goats mirror? Think about what Zen brings vs high DPS comps vs what he brings vs GOATS. Now do the same for Ana. And now for Moira. Discord and transcendence helped deal with the low damage and high value ults in the comp, while his primary and secondary fires did the same thing. Ana had anti that got true value, and it was easily blocked by d.vas and reins, while being cleansed by Zarya. Moira had heals and her ult had cleave. That’s all she brought. This isn’t just me saying these things and pulling them out of my a s s, this is professional players and professional coaches who I’m getting this information from.

Reduce beam hitbox to be slightly larger than charged Sym/Zarya, increase damage proportionately.

Replace damage orb with an offensive utility orb. Aoe slow, or a healing absorb that eats 200 healing given to nearby enemies, etc.

Increase fade CD by one second to encourage more prudent use of it.

again so that rewards players that stand on the outskirts of a fight and not engage in order to increase their healing.

so you’re complaining that a moira WON’T be in your backline killing your ana? And instead will be doing her primary job as a healer by… healing?

moira already excels at healing. anyone that wants to climb with moira will play her as a healer not a flank. Changing moiras kit won’t stop flanking moiras my friend. Moira is fine. Whatever a characters kit is, you’re going to get people that do not play them in the correct way.

Well it depends - I mean if she can sustain and use movement to keep it up. Mind you, I am not talking GM level play though.

Moira is not the issue, the issue is role queue and the team composition required to deal with her.

She was never an issue in open queue because the team would pick the most annoying counters and then push the game forward.

The issue in role queue is Moira can only be countered by the DPS class and they are the ONLY two players. Depending if they are good with multiple heroes the Moira can be really annoying or subpar.

The game is balanced around role queue but Overwatch should never be role queue in the first place.

It’s about who can counter who and switch picks, but somehow in this modern century of League of Legends, Apex Legends, Dota 2, and Overwatch, there is the idea and conception of, you main a “class” rather than you main the mechanics.

Most players here cannot play all Heroes to a B+ standard and that is an issue. One trick A+ players are never going to carry a game in a game where Heroes have counters or limiters to prevent them from ever doing so.

Moira is only relevant in low tiers of play, and in OWL when Double Barrier is around, or Brigitte is banned

I think she should be reworked, here’s some ideas I have:

Fade removed and replaced with shadowport she teleports to whomever she chooses and basically heals the area with AOE smoke.

Coalescence replaced with Biotic Barrage she throws a barrage of orbs, healing/damage while spinning around and laughing.

Biotic grasp now has a damage meter instead of heal meter, basically you have to heal instead of doing damage to gain the damage meter

I love that, but the heals would need some limiter on them…

They would, Heals have 2 second CD, basically giving her enough time to do some damage with the damage meter

what damage? her beam doesn’t do as much as you think, and her orb is mitigated damage… don’t want to eat the entire amount? should have been with your team then
