I’ll be able to get them once the season ends, but I’m afraid that all the previous forums’ complaints about her is gonna give her the nerf hammer treatment Mercy got, and render my buying her gun null. Then again, people get Ana’s golden gun even now despite her tough spot, so should I go ahead and give it a go?

I mean just buy it for the reason you like playing a character. Don’t buy it just because if a character is good or not in the next few days.

I took the leap of faith and bought her golden gun. I’m enjoying it, but… I don’t know. There’s a clear lack of actual support for nerfing moira.

I would go for it.
Sadly, we’re pretty helpless when it comes to blizzard’s decisions. She might be nerfed, she might be reworked… but these are risks that come with any character. (And having played a certain other Blizz game, believe me: I’ve seen them out of the blue rework characters with no balance issues, nerf D tier characters, etc).
But if you enjoy playing her, that’s what matters. Get it. Something might happen, but that could happen to your second choice too.

If you enjoy playing as her, go for it. She is probably my next golden weapon after this season, as I very much enjoy her.
The nerf comments on the old forums largely seemed to be trolling by accounts with suspiciously low post counts. I think that Blizzard is as aware as we are that she is the first new hero to hit the game who is very fun and needs no improvements.

Buy gold guns for a hero you like, not for a hero that is strong.
I mained Reaper when he was a troll pick in season 3, I mained Reaper when he was buffed and turned into a monster in season 5, and I mained Reaper when people start to know how to deal with him.
Oh, I also got gold guns for Tracer simply because I love the character, though i can’t play her at all.
If your love for heroes is defined by Blizzard’s nerfs and buffs, boy you’re gonna have a tough time
I bought Orisa’s Gold gun just because it looks cool and I like playing her. I’m gonna buy Ana’s soon because I’ve been enjoying playing her!

Go for it I want to get golden guns for Maria golden nails on her moon skin.
I know that a lot of Mercy players who purchased the golden weapon felt horrible when the nerfs came in, I’m sure other people felt the same when their heroes were hit with nerfs (Roadhog for one)
But the thing is, if you love that hero, you play that hero a lot, then the here and now should be enough to validate your purchase of her golden nail polish.
The only reason why I woundn’t get a Moira golden weapon is that you don’t see much of it compared to other heroes. My personal opinion, I’m not hating on Moira.
