Should I learn how to play Genji?

Never really gave him an honest go.

Still an airblading Andy lol

If you are having fun playing him then yes.
Otherwise it is better to be perfecting your main instead. You will be bringing way more value.

Yes, he can be a lot of fun after you learn his kit.

Deflecting graviton and dragons is fun but, the Chad move is deflecting Moira’s healing orbs to heal your team.

If you want sure hes playable but it will be and up hill battle i recommend working on 180 turns after dash and your head shot dash combo

Lol when they throw it. So never

It just takes tile like any high skill hero look at lucio new lucios look so lost but once they learn the kit they can be jsut as deadly while still being an amazing support

Yeah, that’s true sadly.

I’m still traumatized thinking about using him for the very first time in OW1 trying to deflect a Zarya beam, thinking the deflect was bugging out because I wasn’t deflecting it :person_facepalming:

Honestly depends on your mental. If your mental is strong and you don’t tilt easily, go for it, you’ll find that the hero has so much potential and he’s so fun when you pop-off.

If your mental is weak, don’t choose Genji. Genji’s gameplay is real hands-on, you need to be in the enemy’s face most of the time or you need to be attempting flanks etc which some times leads to being 2-tapped or solo ulted or or or or (you get the point). What I mean is that you can’t stay in the safety of your team and you might play games where you keep dying on repeat which can be really frustrating.

I have around 700 hours on the hero.

I’m no stranger to pain. I have played McCree at his worst. Also Rheinhardt at his worst too. Respawn simulators is in the blood.

Not worth the effort if you want to win but he’s one of the most fun character in the game so go ahead

If you like his function/aesthetic, go for it. Sure you may be berated since he’s not “META” but take it from a Sym main, better to lose with a character you like than with one you hate.

Learning a new hero is never a bad thing. At the very least, you’ll start figuring out what he struggles with.

At this point, if you want to get value out of him, you’ll have to be pretty good with him.

For serious play, you might be better off playing a character that’s a bit more meta.

Though for funsies, you can definitely give him a go.

I can only play Genji and he’s sometimes super strong and sometimes a tad weak.
I’d say that he relies a lot on team play.

Depends on whether you like his gameplay or not give it a whirl if you like, spend time on him and gitgud.

He is interesting to learn and unique.

Every part of his kit requires you to learn something.

You mentioned pain about worst states of cree and rein, i would say its nothing compared to genji, not cause genji was underpowered or anything, but even in their worst states cree and rein are consistent heroes, even in his worst states cree was never like really countered by anyone.

Genji on the other hand can touch both extremes, he can feel like a ninja god one moment, at the other end can feel like a useless inconsistent hero.

Genji can be both the hunter and prey.

All that said if you get good with him mechanically and game sense why, he is pretty good all round pick.

You just need a lot of discipline and right attitude to not tilt.

That all depends, how committed are you to consistently asking for buffs?

If you don’t have what it takes to be a Genji main, IDK, play Torb.
