I noticed lately i hit less shots then i usually am.
As any sane person i took it as i just got worse in the game and need to amp up my play.
after a few games things started to seem a little bit odd- but i finally realised many of my shots (mostly visible when i play hanzo) just not registering.
I shot an arrow, it hits the target, the arrow literally is inside the enemy, there’s blood and the weird face some of the heroes do when they get hit- but they lose no health.
I actually had a highlight as well were i hit an ashe in the head- she loses no health at all- i shot another arrow on her head and kill her- and you can see that when she falls dead to the ground she has two arrows stuck inside her head.
playing competitively is hard for me atm- is i can’t trust the game to register the shots i fire- thing that is massively hurting my gameplay honestly.
(I could see this happen also on mccree and widow).
please let me know if this is a known problem and if it is gonna be fixed!!
Sounds like a internet related issue. You might want to check out the tech support forum.
EDIT: Are you using WiFi or Ethernet?
That’s definitely a latency issue, you better check your network for any abnormal usage.
I suggest that you also be on a wired connection.

You can monitor your latency. There is an option in graphic settings to display statistics which will show up on top left, latency is what interests you.
If it is stable and below 100ms, then this could be not an actual latency issue.
If your latency is jumping and/or high (100ms+) this is likely NOT a game issue and could be due to bad connectivity to your router (i.e. poor quality WiFi), OR due to downloads occuring from you or from another machine on the network, OR due to an ISP defect (physical on your lane or another ISP issue).
Otherwise, it might be something else entirely.

But its not a latency issue. Its a server wide problem. I get the same problem as well as many others ive been matched with. Personal Network latency is fine, ISP is fine, can stream/download and play other online games with no issue. OW is the one game that has had this as a persistent issue, right now its at its lowest maybe second lowest. It was heavily noticeable 2 events ago where we had that extra 20-30 second delay in starting matched. At that time is was heavily noticeable with certain hero abilities and combos due to this Interpolation Latency problem; where you could die before being killed because the game on the server end already registered an entire ability or combos damage before they finished. i.e. Moira’s coalescence, Beam a hero with this problem, instead of taking the damage over a short time, its all the damage instantly at once or roughly 0.5 seconds. Last night had a roadhog get affected by this, took an enemy roadhogs ult while at 100% hp and was instant killed while I was healing him with heal orb and primary heal as Moira. No gradual health drop from each hit, it was instant death in 0.5 seconds.

I have been playing overwatch for the past 3 years on the exact same latency, always connected by cable to the internet.
Its not a latency issue. I can assure u that much.
Im hardly the only one it occurs to- even frienda of mine who plays on 20 or less ping experienced this a lot lately.
Noregs always existed in the game too, but lately just more so by a lot.
Its a bug, its not something solveable by internet connection, but by fixing a spaghetti code

I have been getting the same issue. I notice it a lot when playing both hit-scan characters and projectile.
I don’t think its a latency issue i always have a 40ms and a wired connection. I have a pretty high down load and upload speed.
I am definitely hitting the shots because its giving me the flash of light that happens when you hit someone but no damage. It’s especially noticeable reflect as Genji. The issue does not happen all the time but its definitely enough that its became a problem.
I don’t know if its a issue with where i am located, I am from Scotland and the closes server i connect to is ams1 so it might be the case that i am too far away but other than that i am stumped. I have tried port forwarding and so many other fixes but nothing has worked for me so far.
