In OW1 Tank players were low in count because Tanks kept getting nerfed and became a meat bag at the end.
Now in OW2 ones that got nerfed the most are healers. Brig’s stun is gone. Ana’s nade’s been shorted, there is one less tank for healers to get cover to.
I am wondering what the devs are gona do.
Maybe they will shorten the count of healer from 2 to 1 and make healers uber strong. Lol. Just kidding
I am not here to suggest solutions. I am here to share my experiences as a healer player. And yes Healer sucks
They removed 1 tank and barriers, while adding a dps that’s soldier and widow in one that pumps more dmg than anyone else. Of course this is not fun on support.
Don’t worry guys! I heard PVE was going to save us from our queue woes. Just hold out a little longer! (And be sure to show Blizzard your support by buying the battle pass and treating yourself to some of those amazing skins in the mean time!)
Brigitte saw an increase in damage to Shield Bash, and a faster Rally.
Lucio saw faster wall-riding.
Mercy has faster Guardian Angel and new functions to it.
Baptiste saw an increase in damage output (back to launch state), and more power Regen Burst.
Not every support got something. Ana’s Sleep Dart’s cooldown was increased, and Moira and Lucio, arguably, remain functionally the same as before. But most supports saw buffs; compared to the rest of the Damage-role cast.
Depends on the Tank. Most Supports can outheal Winston, and Wrecking Ball. Doomfist’s infrequency in damage output can also be outhealed.
I feel they nerfed the healing.
Or because there is one less tank and all damagers flank, there is less healing.
Somehow, I could consistently push out 12-14k healing in OW1, now I barely reach 10k in most games.
Most I had was something like 14k in a competitive payload after 4 rounds of healing.
Depending on when you last played OW1, healing per second has gone down for several heroes. Notably Moira, Brigitte, and Ana.
FWIW, I’m still maintaining my high averages in total healing; and it’s become a lot more observable in seeing other Supports and how there is always at least one Support on each team that isn’t pulling their weight in healing.
More often than not, I’m finding playing Lucio for Sound Barrier defense is becoming a lot more important. After the first week, I’m not seeing many players exploiting Kitsune Rush as well as they used. Often times I’m now seeing low single digit assists from my highs of 70+.
Under a minute queue times for DPS/Support and 3 minute or less queue times for Tank seem to indicate support is just fine. That’s been my experience. I can play whatever role I want and get a game quickly
Maybe it’s a skill issue. Or maybe these are just fake complaints when I read things like “supports are trash” due to a reason that isn’t real, makes me think the complaints are fake…
Can agree somewhat: You’re not out healing enemy team magnifying on tank unless it’s a hog - Zaria. No- This is true: Brig is complete dog sh. She gets Midas touched out the game easy and actually sucks even more now than in OW1.
*New mercy valk = dog blank. Would rather have reverted mercy with faster shift-click.
I agree Zen did need the new ability.
*Did lucio need to get faster? He is fast enough, how does this help healing?
*Baptiste - it’s damage… who cares as this is all the devs gear the game towards.
*Ana kinda did need a nerf on dart but her anti nerf really sucks.
For me, yeah, Support mostly sucks but Lucio and Kiriko are very fun and Brig feels good too. I will be queueing damage and support, until I get the Kiriko’s 2nd achievement - after that mostly damage.
Genji, Soldier, Ashe, Widow all feel good - Still getting used to Sojourn
That’s probably the only logical outcome if the devs want to save their game asap.
Unless they want to wait 5 years like in OW1 until the game dies.
The initial launch hype will fade out soon, and if they don’t improve the game format drastically, things will only get uglier in the future.
Mind you, they are currently forcing people to flex to all roles to earn coins and progress faster in the BP.
Just imagine the queue times without using these cheap methods.
