Shock used primal rage and got deleted in 1 second

This is why zen needs the nerf. There’s also a need to nerf damage OR adjust the damage mitigation armor does. it just reduces 5 damage and that’s worthless in current meta. Some winston buffs are also due since winston only ever had +100 to his shield since the release of this game. Winston in primal rage should not be deleted in 1 second. In my games in master, there’s really no incentive going monkey when ball’s just the better dive tank and doesn’t explode in 1 second. plenty of Tanks don’t enjoy the game right now. please fix it. Not everyone enjoys playing hog, sigma, or ball (only viable tanks).

Edit: The clip can’t be played for some reason. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Primal rage used to be a balanced ultimate. Maybe we should bring the game back to that power level instead of having to match the poke and burst damage we have now

Winston definitely has felt weak for quite a while, and buffing the Fan the Quiver didn’t help, for sure. Winston “should” offer more team protection than Ball for his lower levels of mobility and non-ult cc, but that shield melts so fast that the team protection element isn’t even a thing.

I feel like a 400hp 200armour winston might be more appropriate for this game’s current state, and his lack of a second defensive ability. I really fear buffing his bubble any further, as I’ve already lost to Winston/Orisa doubleshield and that’s just a nightmare to imagine becoming an actual meta.

Idk why you guys want more armor, its actually funny because armor doesn’t benefit winston or dva against current meta at all, it just make him more durable to reaper and hog which is idiotic, we need poke damage nerf not shotgun nerfs.

it doesn’t matter if all of it is 500 armor. Slapping more armor to a tank will not do anything in current meta. It just reduces a measly 5 damage from shots. Cree does 65 damage (-5 because of the armor) Ashe does 65 (-5 cause of armor). Echo outright deletes tanks (echo nerfs were useless btw). 1-2 headshots is enough to strip most tanks of their armor.

It’s kinda hard to see but he did jump into the middle of both Damage heroes, next to Hog (highest Tank damage?) and Zen who, even without Discord hits pretty damn hard. Even the Ball had line of sight to get a few kicks in.

Not to say that Tanks aren’t getting melted, but even if zen forgot to put it on him I dunno if he was getting outta that one alive :grimacing:

So why not take this logic and use it to delete the ball? Why is Hammond meta if that much health melts that fast? Health is all Hammond has after all.

Yeh it’s sorta effective against Tracer/Reaper/Soldier but that’s pretty much it :thinking: perhaps a % based reduction if the damage to do is 10+ and or hard caps on the amount of damage you can take in one go.

For example, damage below 10 is halved, damage above is reduced by 20% and the most damage you can do to someone with armor is 100 :man_shrugging:t2: (I know there’s a problems this is just a rough example)

Nah, I think people exaggerate some things a bit too much. Zen’s 30% discord comes to mind.

That extra 5% makes you take 30% more damage than you would from the 25% discord if all six opponents are shooting you. But if all six opponents are shooting you at once, does it matter if you’re taking 30% more damage or 25% more? You could just not have discord on you at all and you’re still gonna melt in half a second no matter who you are.

I see people praising that change like it’s a huge deal, but it really ain’t.

I don’t think tanks as a whole are too soft, just a few specific key tanks are, namely Orisa and D.va. They are the important components of their tank combos, with Orisa being the combo’s defense in bunker which relies on defense, and D.va being the combo’s offense in dive which relies on offense.

These two tanks need to be better if we hope to have more variety in the game, especially now that Sigma is significantly weakened.

Winston is designed to be like that. In higher ranks, your win condition is getting primal. When you finally farm for primal, you go for that all in dive, pop primal, force a support to use ult OR kill them, then get out. Even if you can’t do that, you’re supposed to at least last more than 1 second. and zen put discord on him btw.

You’re forgetting a simple thing called “hitboxes” and “Head hitboxes”. Primal rage makes winston’s character model bigger in exchange for more health and more mobility. Ball’s character model stays the same all throughout AND he can hide his head (and he’s much more mobile than monkey btw). the ability to not get headshot is extremely important to ball’s survivability.

I’m amazed you can say that to shock, one of the best tank players in the world. Primal rage can be used to force a supp ultimate, push people off the map (not applicable in the video), isolate a target and push him to your team, create space, assassinate a supp, and so on. You can’t do any of those if you’re dead in LITERALLY ONE SECOND. You’re supposed to live long enough to escape or have your team follow up. What’s your rank? If you’re not at least master, I have no idea where you can get the confidence to talk trash to one of the best tank players in the world.

I know none of the dps and few of the supports want to hear this, but both damage and healing need to be reduced if they’re not going to buff people to overpowered levels.

Mercy should be the gold standard for single target heals. Moira should be the gold standard for AoE heals. No other hero should have anywhere near their numbers.

Widow should be the only character in the DPS category who can one shot a 200hp hero, full stop. Damage boost needs to be greatly reduced or removed altogether and replaced with new abilities. GOATS is no longer an excuse in RQ; In OQ another solution can be found.

I know the devs said they wanted lower TTK, but between that clip and the clip of a bubbled Rein getting deleted before the animation for fire strike finished - it’s too much. Something drastic has to change.

the surface area of a STATIONARY winston bubble vs the surface area of a MOVING ball. Even if you have potato aim, it’s impossible to miss winston bubble, but it’s very possible to miss ball when you’re piledrived, fireballed, or he’s zipping in mach speed. Ball’s not even the topic in this post. I believe that ball’s shields are a bit too strong (toning it down to 50 per target), but that’s a different problem, and again not the topic in this conversation.

It may not be the topic, but the point remains the same. If Winston with all his abilities in mind stands no chance to a simple discord, why does the Ball stand a chance?

Because he’s hard to shoot? We’re talking about the best players here, right? Doesn’t sound like a huge deal to me.

If Hammond with his capped 1150 health pool stands a great chance, why does Winston with his 500 health, 700 health barrier, and 1000 health ultimate stand no chance? Winston has a potential 2200 health to work with, and yet he’s still crushed by a simple discord while Hammond skips along bothered not by it?

Yeah, no. A mistake was made by the player in question, and they would have been deleted in a second even with 25% discord. The nerf makes zero difference here.
