Is there any reason that it has a Hitbox twice the size of the animation. It’s like the old rocket punch and it’s not like you can miss, it can also clip people around corners. So why is the hitbox so big? Blizzard please fix this

‘try it yourself’ is not adequate proof when you’re crusading nerfs on a brand new hero.

A nerf can be justified though, if you can provide proof in formatting. Y’know, like the ton of genji deflect videos.
Because it’s supposed to be reliable. It’s super short duration and it’s ment to land almost every time. It’s like flashbang.
get some friends. Have one on Brigitte, and one to cycle through each hero. Have one recording. Show multiple perspectives of shield bash. Show it through multiple abilities and ultimates.
It’s justifiable that the hitbox is as large as doomfist’s first punch animation. Shield bash deals 50 damage and if there is no follow up and people heal the target, it won’t do much. Doomfist needed a nerf (however a smaller one was needed but it’s not the point here) because rocket punch can actually one shot people.
If she gets a hitbox as small as current doom, what will happen if she misses? she’s gonna die because she has no other escape and she basically died to try and deal… 50 damage.
If it was animation accurate it would be 1,5 times the size of doomfists rocket punch
From what I can see on the practice range, you need to have at least the edge of the shield over the enemy’s hitbox to hit. So it’s large yes, but not that much.
We can fix any Brigitte hitbox discrepancies when Genji’s hitboxes are addressed

I see what you’re saying here, however slightly disagree with it. I’m not agreeing with OP, but shield bash can interrupt ultimates (just as rocket punch) which is very powerful and little risk to Brigitte as she still has her shield up for incoming damage.
Just last night an unfortunate lucio went to provide sound barrier and lost it because I happened to shield bash at just the right time. I know thats the party piece for Brigitte to play in a deathball style and avoid offensive ults like deathblossom, but its that risk/reward thing again. 4 second CD on an ultimate stopper is pretty low risk.
Almost every time. Flash bang is pretty reliable, except again Tracer and Genji.
While I partially agree with you, one could argue that compared to the other stuns appart from McCree’s, Brigitte is kind of exposed when shield bash is used in such a way. She still has her shield, but if an ultimate is being used close to her and the ennemy team did not break her shield, it’s also partially on them.
It also has a 5 seconds cooldown which means you can see it happen, immediatly use your ult and if its channeled, you have 4-5 seconds to get rid of Brigitte or her shield, while keeping in mind that an ultimate is being used on that 600 HP shield during this time.
