Don’t take this sarcastically, but I love that you found a way to enjoy Overwatch. And and absolutely welcome you to always play while grouped with a few friends.
I know this because I’m at the exact same spot. I quit the game after Blizzard deleted my main, and nowadays I’m a full casual that only play when friends invite me. Thus, all my time in OW after that thread date is within at least a duo. My favorite times are when I play on a trio because that gives me enough control over my own team while also keeping the spice of random teammates forcing me to adapt to the situation on the fly.
I advise you to avoid solo queue if they are giving you that level of grief, and there is no shame into only playing when there is someone else to take the ride with you.
