Share Your Weird Overwatch Dreams/Weird Character Ideas

So a while ago, I think a month before Kiriko was added(?) I had a weird dream where a new character was added to Overwatch. He was a Support who’s entire kit was based on his ability to place “runes” on the ground. He had an offensive, defensive and healing rune.

One was a fire rune which lasted a short time and was meant to be placed if being chased or when you thought an enemy was about to turn a corner. Upon stepping on it, it was like getting hit by Ashe’s dynamite.

Another provided healing to teammates within a radius, like Soldier’s biotic field but a larger radius and less hps.

The last one, iirc, pushed enemies away in a pulse if they got near it. It could be used to knock enemies off a ledge or just momentarily keep them from going through a small area like a doorway or a chokepoint.

I don’t remember his other abilities very well but I believe he had a long dash, threw damaging knives (or cards?) with left click and did a bit more melee damage.
I was playing him in a new deathmatch mode on a new map that was entirely enclosed and underground, like some forgotten, sunken temple. He was surprisingly strong.

Anyone have any of their own weird Overwatch dreams or random/odd character ideas to share?

I dont know why, but I love hereos with elemental designs, give me a dps that shoots water bullets, idc if it does no dmg, lemme see these water spikes being thrown at enemies lol. Same with fire, yes tf2 already have the pyro, but they already copied mercy and torb so just make a pyro hero, their dope to look at and fun to play.

I dreamt Sym got her noodle-beam back. I fried soooo many enemies until I woke up… :heart:

I want us to be able to buy legacy skins whenever we want to include things like the Blizzcon skins, OG Overwatch League Skins, and even Pink Mercy. I would also want for Symmetra to have a golden hand/glove so we can use her old highlights and victory poses to showcase it.

That just made me think of the water spells in FFX, one of which enveloped the enemy in a giant ball of water before bursting.

That would be too much like Zarya’s ult ingame though, I suppose.

I keep thinking about having a dragon hero in the tank role.

Using it’s wings to soar and displace enemies with gusts of wind

Imagine an ultimate grabbing an enemy and slamming them into the ground ala Charizard Seismic Slam in pokemon unite

That would be sick as hell.

EDIT: Since the tank role is less of a space controlling role and more of a “raid boss” role as people coin it, Having a giant threatening dragon would suit the role much more now than it ever would have in OW1.

I dreamt of getting the leveling up lootboxes back.
I got a sprays an icon and a rare skin and some coins… but damn it was still felt more rewarding than the pre-set charms and souvenirs the battlepass gives.

I actually had an idea similar to that a long time ago, one of my first posts/topics on the forum.
It was an idea for Jetpack Cat, or as I put it in the post, Jetpack Dog (I really want a goofy pug character in the game. I would main the heck out of them).

The ult was: The character does a quick backflip/loop-de-loop with the jetpack and then they aim an aoe effect, the aiming similar to Sigma’s ult, except it’s a long rectangle with the end facing away from the character, showing where the ult will effect.
Once activating, they blast off in that direction with their Jetpack, igniting everyone caught in the aoe and doing area damage. They also don’t end up on the other side and quickly zoom back to where they were.

I dreamt Jared Leto was a DPS on my team, and I was his pocket. It was on Numbani.

Such a weird dream. That teaches me not to look at his Met Gala outfits before I sleep.

I really want a water based tank. Though, I feel some of the ideas I have now are taken by Lifeweaver (mainly the idea of using the kit to create high ground; I had the idea of creating a geyser that would lift teammates up, Weaver releases with a petal elevator)
So, I’d have to think about it again now.

Could have it instead lift enemies up like a ranged WB piledriver.

I’m not sure it’s adequately weird or unusual, but:
Sniper Support
-Primary is a pistol, semi auto only, ~3 rounds per second. Decent damage in exchange for being a little less forgiving. Could try a higher than 2 crit multiplier if it seems too good with body shots. 15 round mag, I want it to feel like a hefty .45 ACP (and yes, there are indeed a few with a standard-length 15 round mag).
-Secondary scopes in for a slowish sniper rifle (so slower than Ana’s) with something like 150-180 damage on headshots
-One of the ability buttons has a short ranged healing beam provided via an under barrel attachment, meter limited but passively recovers. Same button while scoped has a long ranged healing beam for some amount of burst heal, but on a moderate cooldown, somewhere in the 6-12 second range.
-Kills produce hotspots that heal allies and maybe slightly damage or slow enemies. Pistol kills produce a Soldier-wide (roughly) diameter circular hotspot, sniper kills ~3 soldiers wide, maybe more or less depending on if it’s a crit kill.
-Ultimate loads a few special sniper rounds that always explode into a large hotspot that produces meaningful damage to enemies while healing allies.

I don’t really want evasive mobility, but I’d either give him a wall climb and have the remaining ability button deploy a hotspot similar to the non-ult ones to offer a little help vs flankers, or instead of that, have a deployable jump pad or something to help reach high ground. Could do a slow moving jet pack either, if it has very limited horizontal mobility.

Mostly I just dislike not having easy ways to reach high ground as a sniper in this game, hence the above mobility ideas.

Lot of tunable parameters in there to make it work, but the main idea is DPS first, healing is a secondary priority for this hero.

When I heard that Mercy has a dragon skin I thought “I cool like a dnd dragonborn?”. But Nah it’s just dragon themed armor.

Not actually sure if I would want mythological/fantasy species to be introduced into the Overwatch lore, but I could bear a talking crocodile that’s a friend of Winston XD

I had a dream during OW1 that we got a platform guy who could place bouncy platforms and dash around…

And then of course a flamethrower guy, goo gun guy, plant guy (who could snare people and pull allies/enemies).

Dream: Where OW players are not toxic to each other due to Blizzard’s bad decisions and choices and where they stop cheating. Also for added fun, they (the players) stop moaning and complaining on the forums about every little selfish stupid thing.

Dug up an old post I made from Hammond’s release:

I dreamt that alongside Hammond, there was a new DPS hero called Yo. The only things Yo said were “Yo” and “Wassup.” He would only say those upon an elimination. My entire dream was just one big gameplay footage video that showed him getting 6 man frags with some weird hybrid of fire strike and rocket punch. All I remember is that he looked like a red Lucio but with a fire-inspired hair style instead of dreadlocks.
