Severe Input Delay (>2000 ms) on Movement

Recently I have noticed between 2-4 seconds of delay between pressing a movement key (WASD) and the character responding.

The character can become ‘stuck’ following a previous movement instruction, e.g. I take my finger off ‘W’ and they will keep moving forward for several seconds. If I press ‘S’ during this the character will come to a stop for several seconds but will not actually move backward. Obviously this is a major hindrance to gameplay.

This only affects movement. Abilities, aiming, shooting are all unchanged. There is no ‘rubber banding’.

My latency is on average 24ms on a wired Ethernet connection with no similar issues on other online FPS games. The Overwatch error is reproducible across different keyboards.

My FPS is a solid 60 frames with no GPU/CPU throttling.

In summary from some patch this year I have severe movement input lag with no apparent network or keyboard issues, and would be grateful for any technical support to resolve this.

Are you using the Discord overlay?

hey nicole could u help me my post is this

Only if you promise to stop hijacking other peoples’ threads :smirk:

sure i promise that wont happen

I’m also dealing with this issue from time to time.

I’ve noticed no network performance icons appear and I’m, still able to shoot and steer my character with my mouse when the character is stuck walking.

Sometimes is also delays the inputs. I will stand still not moving after holding w then pressing a,s,d. Then after several seconds the inputs will play back in order.

My only thought is running discord as admin could be causing this, but sometimes it requires admin for the mic button to work.
