I opened the game today and all my control settings for all heroes was completely reset. I had so many settings for different heroes that it I have no idea what they were. Is there any way to recover them?

Happened to me as well.. I thought I was going crazy 
This is very concerning.
This already happened once last season’s end. I really hope they restore it and it doesn’t happen again. I play all heroes, that’s 50 at last count and almost all of them have custom sensitivity, reticle and sometimes keybinds. It would be devastating to lose them since each one is the result of hours of testing.
All controls settings are stored server side, without even a local settings file to export for backup. It’s always been like this for Overwatch since the beginning and is actually the one thing that could use a change. I’ve already suffered the loss of dozens of hours of redoing the settings ages ago when I once accidentally clicked restore to default thinking it was just a localized reset for a portion of the settings and ended up losing everything. I live in constant fear of it happening again, so I try to keep some basic notes, but it really is too tedious to keep manually updated records of all the settings for 50+ heroes, especially with the way Ow2 keeps changing things. I constantly had to tweak my sensitivity for one hero or another, usually due to a bug or some undocumented background testing in the live game messing things up. Just a recent update example being Ana. From last time I reported her hit registration being off about a week ago to now, I play her to find suddenly everything’s so much slower on the exact same sensitivity settings, and since I don’t know if it’s because she’s actually fixed or it’s a result of the bugfix gone wrong, I can only adjust my own settings and see.
These controls settings really could use a local save file, or the option to export/import to a local settings file, like human readable ini format.

Same. I am genuinely furious rn. We give them how much money?! How much is this place worth? Apparently it is overvalued as they are struggling to maintain even something as simple as player settings.

Thanks for the update. I saw bug reports and managed to dodge the last controls settings reset by just avoiding patching the game and logging in until the new season and official patch notes, I guess I won’t be playing tonight either until they fix this. I just cannot afford to lose all my settings.
