Set Overwatch Windowed

I have a particular issue I am sure nobody else has. However, even after digging around in the online forums, nothing could be found on the issue. I need help setting my video settings in Overwatch to windowed or windowed borderless without starting up the game. The reason for this is if it tries to run at fullscreen, my pc will motherboard lock.

(aka I have to unplug the computer. If any usb is disconnected, it wont reconnect or send power if plugged back in. It’s a full hang.)

There is a setting in Additional command line arguments that if I knew what to type in, I could set it to windowed. I can’t find a proper code to put in there though. My pc is a dual monitor Asus computer that runs with both AMD and Nvidia software and hardware and hangs with nearly any fullscreen program.

Hey there Galzban,

To do this, you’d need to open up the settings folder for Overwatch which is saved in the Documents folder (for Windows 10). From there you’d need to edit the file to include those last 4 lines (for borderless Window mode) under where it says “Render.” Should look like this. Alternatively, if you wanted the bordered window mode, like this.

Please ensure the game is closed while editing this file as the file saves on game exit, so if you edit the file with the game opened then later close the game the changes will be reverted.

Keep in mind that manually editing these files is not technically supported and doing this may not work for everyone.
