Since the latest patch went live there has been considerable lack of server stability with it just randomly crashing then restarting for multiple people. I’ve now had 3 different matches where I have D/Cd then it reloaded in and someone else had the same issue.
If the server crashes, the match stops existing and you cannot rejoin anything, because it will disconnect all players. What you’re describing is a connection issue between you and the server.
No its a major issue just look at the tech support we all reporting the same issue
Tech support looks the same as it has for the past 5 years. Every time someone has a connection problem, it’s an immediate blame game with the Overwatch servers. I played all day today without a single disconnect or lag issue, so I fully disagree on this.
Yeah but the majority is wide lately since s7
That’s the nature of a tech support forum. It’s all complaints about issues, not a place to post how well things are going. But to say the things posted here are affecting the majority is hyperbole.
If someone has a connection issue, they need to collect network data per the instructions pinned in this forum. Then the source of the issue can be pointed to. Unfortunately, it’s usually ISPs, because none of them are perfect.
I have never had issues before. until s7 came out and im pretty sure most of us. This is unusual
I too have been having constant connection drops mid match since the last update a few days ago, I have been playing consistently for the past 6 months or so and haven’t had this problem until this last patch, I really wanna play but every 30 seconds or so of normal gameplay is followed by at least 20-30 seconds of lag, followed by me being brought to the main menu while it reconnects me and then i load back into the match and it just repeats.
I haven’t been able to connect to a game server since November 2nd
Or or and bear with me.
The servers are having an issue. I know you are new to Blizzard, but amazingly, and this is truefax, their servers are literal garbage rented from AT&T, which has a lot of issues. Blizzard does not own servers, they rent them, and things DO HAPPEN outside of Blizzard control.
When you, a MOD for a forum see an influx of activity all pointing at the same thing, maybe do what your MVP title says you do, and either help or move the topic onto someone who can.
Snark and attitude may get you green text, but actually helping, you aint it chief.
Misinformation abounds here.
- I’m not new to Blizzard or this forum.
- The servers are not rented or hosted on AT&T and never have been.
- I am not a forum mod.
Being wrong and trolling other players or MVPs in the forum ain’t it either.
Was there any resolution on this matter as I have a similar issue with a reliable connection to other online/gaming services and doesn’t appear that support has offered any solutions other than running multiple ping and traceroute tests to which my local server doesn’t even accept ICMP echo requests. Furthermore, I can see whenever I try to reach a blizzard service the packet loss is extremely high vs other services so yes we maybe complaining however we are expecting the “MVP - Tech Support” to offer solutions and not assume that the ISP is at fault and offer elementary answers without any real referral to get these issues addressed.
