Server Issues or WiFi?

I occasionally have had server issues in the past (and even some diagnosed WiFi issues sometimes). I’ve checked my WiFi multiple times over the last few days and everything seems completely fine. My WiFi works perfectly fine for other console games and for my other devices. I play console (PS5 and Switch 2). For some reason my in-game lag has been HORRIBLE. Like every single game I’m glitching across the map. Usually I just wait until the issue fixes itself, but now it’s been about 4-5 days of this. Is there a way to check if there are server issues? Or to figure out what the problem is? Is anyone else experiencing bad lag the past few days? Thanks and I hope I can get some guidance

download pingplotter (its free ish, has a trial and free version is limited to one server to check with 10 min history..good nuf for this issue) add 24.105.62.129 as the source to check every second…you will now see which hops are causing you issues…might be local to your isp, or it might not be

That IP is a login server, which checks your username/password/license. That’s not a game server IP and pinging it is pointless.

not really, it will give a good indication of overall route to the chicago server area and into the blizzard network….while it might not be the ‘proper’ server, it will serve its use of finding out what the network issue is as I doubt it the issue is blizzard itself.

you will see all the hops on the way there, just as you would the server itself. now i took the gamble they are a NA player….adjust accordingly. heck if you knew networking, toss in which would be good ip to poll instead of offering a total non-answer

Blizzard intentionally removed the server IPs from their troubleshooting documentation, so you’re on your own for hunting down what you’re connected to at a given moment.

I’m also having this issue on PS5 and it is definitely not my connection or wifi. I’m constantly being disconnected from servers or servers are being closed for unexpected reasons. It’s has gotten to the point that I can’t even reconnect to my comp game because I ‘failed to connect to server’. There is definitely an issue with severs on consoles. Atleast 5 of my friends are having the exact same issue and they also have good connection and wifi. I’m also on a lan cable, as well as them. However we just consistently get disconnected from games.

The game is unplayable it happens in non stadium games too it will just start lagging so bad I’ll have to stop moving for awhile to make it go away. My ps5 isn’t hot or anything it’s not overheating.

nope the servers are the problem, my wifi is fine, now i got disconnected every 5 minutes and now i got the leave penalty because of it

ask if anyone else on the server….at the time you are having the issue….is:

1: are you having issues like I am..lag/etc.

Now, if more than one say they are NOT having an issue…its not the server. The server would affect everyone, it would not pick one or two players out of the lobby just to mess with them. With that said, there are roughly on average, 10 things between your wifi router and the server…and any one of them can be causing an issue that you can not do much about.

If you have the inkling, maybe log into your wifi router and see if you can setup some quality of service items for your ps5. How you accomplish this varies and beyond the scope of this thread…but take it as a possible direction to go to address your issue.

My ps5 system software updated last night .I think it’s fixed now.
