This issue has been posted on here time and time again, but has never been acknowledged by Blizzard, and I believe that those who don’t have it happen to them are completely unaware of what the person is saying.
My goal here is to change both of these things. Twice in one night has this issue happened to me. I was queued, it said “Game Found,” but it fails to load me into the game. The “Play” option changes to “Rejoin Match,” but selecting “Rejoin Match” does nothing. Then, after around 30 seconds, it says “Failed to connect to server.”
Then, after around 30 more seconds, it says “The server closed due to an unexpected error. Returning to the main menu.” I am then awarded a competitive ban. I never connected to the game (according to my duo), they were on the “Waiting for players” screen, with me and somebody on the other team missing.
I recorded this happening. I have no connectivity issues with any other games at all. This happens at least twice per season in Overwatch, leading me to believe this is fully on the fault of Blizzard.

This should never punish the people this happens to. I was never loaded into the game. This is not a dodge, this does not ruin anybody’s experience. This is Blizzard’s server failing to put me into the game, then banning me.
