Seriously blizzard - captcha?!

I dont want to come off as mean. But please blizzard. Ditch “captcha” image login stuff. This system is ridiculous. Websites sure think that they are solving security issues by doing this when in reality it doesn’t solve ANYTHING. :stuck_out_tongue:

If people want to get into something. They are going to be able to do it NO MATTER WHAT. All this does is make the honest user’s life MORE miserable because they have to stare at weird things like poorly rendered photos, ink blots, or things that aren’t even listed there that the system says IS. To attempt a login.

I am sorry, but please remove this from the website. Thank you.

This is a wierd hill to stand on lol…

Captchas do work for their intended purpose though.

These image captchas exist mostly to further the development of AI. Stuff like roadsigns and vehicles are likely used to help improve self-driving cars. It’s not really there to improve your security.

MAybe you are a robot? Do you need electricity to exists? Then it might be working as intended.

Welcome to the Overwatch forums, may I redirect you to https://www.reddit.com to complain about these issues.

Also captia is not there for you, Its there to make sure no bot can login.

:smirk:

I am sorry they do NOT work as intended. Which is why they have to frequently update them in the first place.

Dont make me get the spray bottle

You believe a CAPTCHA works?

If you look at how many revisions they have to do to CAPTCHA, I think wayback machine will start with some incite.

Me, I just get so sick of them because the pictures games drive me nuts.

Please click this Cross walk that we zoomed in at 1,000x and a person can barely tell that it is a cross walk. :slightly_frowning_face:

They work for basic brute force attacks and denial of service attacks that target login pages, which is all they need to do.

That’s why he met ganymede

most of those types attacks prevented are just preventing first year script kiddies you are blocking.

Go watch some stuff from the DEFCON security conference and then lets talk more after .

Thank you! Enjoy watching it

(not trying to be rude, only wanting to help people here! )

That is very true, a bird is not a robot! Genius!

Nice try robot. I don’t know how you got passed the flawless security system but you won’t be here for long…

Which is fine. Captchas are extremely easy to implement and only come into effect when there’s more than the average traffic from a certain endpoint and are sufficient for most uses.

For services that don’t harm people if they fall below the 99.9% uptime window, this is fine since the continuous effort required to prevent serious attacks is extremely difficult.

That leaves zen having still problems with stuff like this.

that statistic would not be true. Please. go watch the conference stuff and read through convention notes on it.

It literally is true but ok lol
