Sensitivity question

I have a thousand hours playing Rat and a few hundred on other projectile heros.
I play these heros a 7.5 In game
I was thinking, I want to learn hitscan but not mess my projectile aim up in the process.
I noticed when playing hitscan I go to far pretty often(Due to being a projectile player)
Would it be a good idea to put hitscan heros sensitivity lower by about .5? Or would it mess me up alot?

Your in game sens doesn’t say much. What’s your mouse dpi?

I play with sensitivity 1.

All problem solved by the very root lol
For Hitscan and Projectile heroes.

Anyone here got a good sens for 1600 dpi?
Trying 5 sens and it seems good

You need to let us know your DPI as well for a good answer.

I’m assuming since you didn’t list it, you don’t know it or aren’t concerned about it so it’s at default which is either 400 or 800 meaning you EDPI is either 3k or 6k. 6k is alright for Junkrat since you don’t really need precise aiming. I’d recommend and EDPI between 2800 and 4200 for hitscan.
To find your EDPI, multiply your ingame sens by your DPI. For example, I play on 3200 DPI and 1 ingame. Which means 3200 EDPI.

I used to play 3200 mouse DPI with 1 sense. So its 2 for you?
Its very personall obviously

PS Recently Ive ran out of light lithium batteries, Duracell batteries are very heavy so I increased DPI to 3500 so its like 2.2 for you?
Its very personall obviously

If you’re using 5 sens on 1600 DPI, that means 8k EDPI which is very high. It might feel good for you, but you’re neglecting alot of potential. You will just perform better at a lower DPI.

Depends on the Hero - McCree 8 sens with a 680dpi mouse
Genji 13.5 sens Tracer 14 sens
Ana 9 sens and 45% scoped

Well, some of us don’t have the luxury of vast amounts of desk space.

You don’t need vast amounts of deskspace. anything over 5k is a 360 with a twitch of the wrist. I use 4.6k EDPI on Genji for this reason.

No, it isn’t. You don’t play high sens, so you clearly don’t know. effective dpi of 8880 on mccree gets me a 360 across a standard sized mouse pad from left to right.

Ahh you must be using wrist aim. I mean that’s fine and all but you’re probably limiting yourself an insane amount. I don’t see anyone getting past gold with that setup.

8880 DPI will give me like 20000 degree rotation on my standard gamer size mouse pad lol

4000 edpi is pretty solid I find. 800x5 leaves you plenty of room for fast 180 on tracer or genji, but it doesn’t impact heroes like McCree too negatively.

effective, dpi. not actual dpi.

I use 1200 sens + 7.4 in game on mccree. 8000 dpi and 1.5 sens with 32 relative for widow.

He uses 1 sens so his DPI is his EDPI.

They surface of your mouse pad is more important than anyone imagines. Slippery mouse pads make you use low sense to combat the fact the mouse will almost move on its own. Rubber or Silicone pads will allow you to run much higher eDpi using the coefficient of friction to control the mouse, instead of limiting slide with your own response. Even something simple as a dirty mousepad can alter the way your eDpi “feels”. If you have a small desk try using a rubber or silicone pad. If you have no experience in differenet surfaces save yourself the typing to tell me i’m wrong, because you just have no idea. With a silicone pad I run in the 80-90k edpi range.
