Sensitive topic, i'd like to see more female players in OWL

i’m sure there are a good dozen of female players in top 500 in multiple regions, but we never see anything about them, let alone see them being signed for even contenders

where are they?

I really don’t care about owl, but my guess is that if there are no women in it, it’s because they don’t want to be in it

Nothing against females but I can’t imagine it being a sexist thing, if you have the skill they’ll take you.

I mean…there are no women in OWL it’s because they don’t fit the qualifications for it, which are pretty intense, or they just don’t want to. We can want it all we want but being top 500 alone isnt enough to get you into OWL.

Most of the time, if a female player get’s really good in any E sport, the just get bullied away again.

It’s a “sport” which is basically dominated by male players and apparently the ego of those is so big that a lady beating them in a video game makes them just so mad that they try to scare them away at all cost.

I’m sure that not everyone is like that, but that’s pretty much the main reason why only so few women play games professionally. At least, as i see it.

As long as there are no female leagues… well yeah i think you can forget that.

Other sensitive topic, I would like to see more players from a teams home country. I don’t care that we’d get wooped by the Korean team. I want to follow the dude from Port St Lucie, Florida that just transferred to the Outlaws.

That won’t really happen. OWL functions like sports do, but at least the world cup exists for that exact reason

They’re no female player in the OWL cause they’re no female player wanting to be in the OWL simple as that.
Imagine the publicity it will make to have a female e-sport player in the OWL, it would be benefit for everyone in the money departement.

It seems like it did nothing since you also forgot the female player in OWL exists.

OWL wants more female players, too. There was a fiasco in contenders league earlier this year where one team recruited (and signed?) a player they believed to be female but had never met. She turned out to be a guy on an alt account pretending to be female. What was weird about it was how steps were fast tracked and overlooked for that recruit and ONLY that recruit. Everyone knows it’s because they were thought to be female. OWL would bend over backward to get more female players if there were any they thought met the qualifications. There just aren’t very many trying to get in. I think Philly Fusion is the only team that has open tryouts for their contenders team and the only requirement I remember reading about was that you had to be top 500. Let any ladies you think might be interested know about that.

i think there’s like maybe 1 or 2? isn’t aspen apart of a team? and geguri?
honestly i just don’t think most of them bother with going pro, they have probably other stuff they wanna do instead.

it really is possible for us to see more in the future, but i think most of them are thinking more long term i suppose?

they should sign ellie.

Because either they don’t want to be in it or don’t qualify.

Theres nothing stopping them from joining. My guess is that many of them just don’t want to be that committed like other pro players.

Buuuuttt… Aspen joined a contenders team (or was it something else? I’m going off memory) recently, so there’s that.

I wish i could give you a medal for speaking the truth no one wants to hear
