Seems like Overwatch devs don't care about mercy and whoever mains them

Here’s why I think so, after Mercy got invulnerability for rez, the overwatch devs have been trying to nerf mercy over and over to the point where she’s considered a weak hero. Many people have good ideas for making mercy fun and a really good pick, but the Overwatch devs just don’t want to listen to them. Some of the mercy mains have either stopped playing overwatch due to the nerfs that keep coming to mercy, some of them have just played other heroes because you feel like you have a higher impact on the fight. Some people still play mercy, but she doesn’t feel as good as the old mercy was.
The overwatch devs should start using the ptr to try out the ideas that people have for mercy and you can look at the feedback to see whether the buff/nerf wasn’t intended for the outcome.

Just because they disagree with feedback doesn’t mean they aren’t listening to it. Also you can’t just “try out the ideas” because that takes a lot of development time.

Well this post is kind of oblivious and makes us look bad, but it has some truth.

All I want is for the devs to be more open with their community

“b-but they dont comment because theyll just get lots of flack and terrible things from the TOXIC Mercy MOTH mains, I HATE THEM, XQC IS MY GOD!”

Well if thats the case, then the people that work at Blizzard have bad business skills, and judging by the current net worth of Blizzard I would say they can take it. A business should be able to take this so called flak and keep a good image for themselves, like all businesses do, including blizzard.

This silence is pretty odd, Ive seen more socializing from small indie game devs than I do from these big wig blizzard dudes. Its obvious theyve enacted some sort of company policy, this is probably so they dont ironically shoot themselves in the foot with the likes of EA and Ubisoft, then making EVERYONE angry. The thing is, social ISSUES dont really pertain to the game or even its community much, so what gives?

Its obvious Mercy is a very hot topic, even OVER a year later of nonsense, but everything is met with silence. Perhaps they have something up their sleeve, it would be the right thing to do. But the dev tracker feature is pretty useless at this point, aside from an announcement or something. Perhaps they see something the rest of us dont.

In any case the devs need to be more transparent with such a large game with many many players. All they have to do is say “Hey, I looked at this idea for a Mercy rework, some things sound like a good idea.”

This is incorrect. This is an issue that will always be an issue. It’s difficult to communicate with the community for any developer.

If it’s obvious, where’s your proof? To me it seems more likely that they’re simply choosing not to talk all the time. When you consider what these forums are like, I don’t really blame them.

after dropping from mid masters to 3100, I’m not playing comp anymore. QP, arcade, and custom games are just so much more fun because I can play mercy without the big pressure to win. In comp I could be doing everything perfectly, but because the enemy team had focus fire I was unable to keep anyone alive.

I’ve really grown to love playing Ana. I just wish Mercy were a viable pick again.

yea because they have been acknowledging reaper, bastion, reinhardt player concerns over mercy. /s

I’m all for mercy being buffed, but I think right now they are making her wait her turn

first hog, then bastion, then reaper, and then mercy

I still play Mercy a ton. She feels terrible and boring to play most of the time, though. I still play her in comp, I can still win with her, but she feels unimpactful and being in spectator mode for 15secs isn’t fun and not very useful for the most part.
Yesterday I decided to play a bit of D.Va in Arcade, and I had the most fun playing Overwatch than I have had in weeks.
She really doesn’t feel like the old Mercy. Rez on E is overpowered, even with all these nerfs, and occasionally impactful if the rezzed teammate gets a lot of people with their ult, or get some crazy play. Otherwise, they could potentially die soon after you rez them and you could also potentially die during and after the rez because of how vulnerable you are. How does that feel impactful?
Blizzard needs to stop ignoring Mercy. Nobody asked for this rework.

Nice broad statement without any bias there OP. It’s not just you, the developers are unfortunately not very good at communicating with a lot of the playerbase (which is regrettable but we can’t do much about it).

I wonder if theyre just waiting on the opportunity at Blizz con to announce the change.

Cuz, same thing happened Hanzo I believe. If a hero gets complained enough be it Mercy or whatever hero, they DO get changed one way or another, whatever your position on Mercy is.

Cuz theyve so far fixed a lot of heroes this year, who knows, they might focus and announce that theyre gonna rework Bastion, Mercy and Reaper next year since, those 3 imo are in need of help.

I don’t think so but just make a thread saying “Developers hate X character” and they’ll tell you you’re wrong cause Jeff has 50 hours on the hero! /s
