Seeing people shill this hard is actually embarrassing

Many players remember mass rez fondly. Many players also agree that was poor design and has no place being a thing in Overwatch.

I fail to see how casual players have been neglected?

Probably the biggest update in the live game was the when workshop was added. The workshop/custom games is used 99% for casual play. OW received no meaningful updates for years so the casual playerbase could get their precious PvE.

Casuals don’t realize how much has been done for them and they are the first ones to cry.

or
you are doing what a shill is doing, except for free.
because people here are fighting in favor of something that is objectively worse for everyone

If I’m given the option to pay 10 bucks once off for more content then I’m all for it honestly.

You don’t seem to get it. “For free” and “being a shill”, by the very definition of a shill are antonyms… It means you have an opinion. Maybe understand the definition of words before you start using them.

I pay 10 bucks once off and get a whole bunch of new content every season. It won’t really be a grind because I play often enough as it is. Personally I don’t see a downside for me. Your opinion may differ and that is fine.

No one is telling you to not like the game, but people who aren’t a fan of the direction it’s headed are allowed to speak their mind. Also I literally started the post about how I left overwatch over a year ago, possibly longer like if I could leave the game any harder I would. People can still discuss the direction of the game even if they haven’t played the game in ages because surprisingly, some people want the game to improve and be fun?

And it may come as a big shock but people value their time, and would rather unlock content in their own time rather than have to subject themselves to playing for FOMO based battle passes that include content that’s tied to essential mechanics that make the game fun. It’s not crazy to like… not enjoy battle passes at all.

This has been the basic interaction all this week.
Me : Hey dudes, we need more information, dont buy anything and dont play the game until we see its worth it
Flamers: “Omg you disagree with the outrage? You are a shill !”

Its like saying someone is a murderer, except they haven’t killed anyone yet. Amazing logic

You can think something’s fine.

You are allowed to like what someone is doing

Lmao bbbut what info. You said bp is fine so live with that. You are one of the pathetic blizz defenders.

Right on queue, thanks for confirming what I said earlier “lmao”.

and you used to pay 40 bucks for 3 years of content.
how is 10 dollars every 2 months better?

plus, no shill would reveal being one so you only have educated guesses. when people start trying to damage control and sell you on the value of the pass one starts having doubts.

people have the right to complain, but you seem allergic to that notion

Honestly games as a live service shouldn’t have been normalised if the game can’t be played offline but hey this is where we are, and people defending these shady practises by pointing out the cost are weird imo rather save your breath whenever they bring up how cheap it is.

honestly i guess i’ll just drop online games altogether, the last ripleA game i enjoyed was cyberpunk 2077 and even that could’ve been so much more.

i’ll stick to indie and doubleza releases

Surprisingly enough there are like SO many games you can dip your toes into, for me I played Monster Hunter World, The game is an example imo of a live service game done right since despite having to pay for DLC almost all of it was optional cosmetics, even then what cosmetics you get in the game are plentiful and beautiful. Plus the expansion is a whole new game on it’s own and the difficulty of it all was something I needed.

The game much like the current monster hunter Sunbreak release is updated like a live service game, only difference is once support for that service drops you keep everything, cosmetics, decorations etc and can play the game offline solo but with friends as well. I missed just spending hundreds of hours in a game without feeling like I’m constrained to several weeks because what i paid for will be removed soon.

I paid what I paid for a couple years of content and then 3 years of content drought.

If you pay for it once, you can earn currency to pay for subsequent BPs. I play enough for that to be a non issue.

Yeah right, Because Blizzard is dishing out cash left and right to randoms on the internet XD

Never said they dont, just like I have the right to question or challenge anything said in this forum … but you and some others seem to get triggered fast and start insulting the moment someone has a different opinion.

Classy.

It isnt, what is better that it is O P T I O N A L.
Its amazing how you seem to conveniently forget the advantages of a game having no entry cost.

What? What dictionary are you getting your definitions from? There doesn’t have to be a monetary gain to shill. An interest in the game/company succeeding, even when they’re called out for exploitative and terrible anti-consumer decisions and practices, can still be enough of a reason for one to assume they are shilling for the company.

enjoy games turning into second jobs
but hey, you don’t have to pay

You’re still forced to participate in the BP system if you want the full game. That is not optional. Most people knew of the BP system and didn’t complain about it because it was assumed it would be optional. The sudden spike of negative press and negative forum posts, the reason I got a refund, and the reason people are upset is because it is not optional anymore.

By definition, being a shill is promoting something or painting it in a positive way for personal gain.

I have nothing to gain by saying I am looking forward to OW2 and the new system.

Personal gain does not implicitly mean monetary gain.

Thanks for not using the “buzzword” though, I am pretty sure it was hard not to here :sunglasses:

No you are right, its not optional, its automatic.

Like participating in the BP free track is literally just playing the game. IDK mate, you can have your opinion but if just playing the game feels “forced” or like a “grind” to you, maybe you should not play it in the first place.

You chose well to issue a refund. Good luck!
