Who do you want/think the season 8 tank will be?
It’s got to be Mauga surely? Now Junker Queen and Ramattra are in game i can’t think of any other possibility, unless it’s a brand new character.
Sure there are other possibilities like MEKA squad characters (Dmon, overlord, king, casino, dae-hyun etc) Meri from the junkerqueen short, Sanjay as a vishkar tank, another horizon lunar colony character etc but Mauga has been requested for so long it will surely disappoint people if he’s not hero 39?

Surely it HAS to be Mauga. The devs even spoke about how Sigma’s kit was originally Mauga’s so they’ve had him in development for a long time.
If it’s some new guy I won’t be upset about that either tho. But if it’s any Meka or Sanjay I’ll be kinda annoyed

It might be. What a lot of people don’t know is Mauga was meant to be released before or after Bap and they were asset flips from the PvE event Retribution, Bap being the Trooper and Mauga being the heavy.
For w/e reason, Bob used the Heavy assets instead and took his place and they released Ashe/Sigma instead.
They confirmed a lot this as the orignal plan was to Release Bap and Mauga was a set building up there lore together, clearly something went wrong and they went a different direction.
Very likely Mauga at this point in time. Tanks need an anti Pharah option that is not ineffective at best.

Im kinda glad they delayed mauga tbh because sigma’s kit would not of fitted his character

I wouldn’t say its ‘got to be’ Mauga. People were saying that with the last new Tank, but he, obviously, ended up as Ramattra. Because he’s more relevant to the plot of the PVE missions.
Plus, Mauga… Doesn’t really have a proper place as a potential hero? Like, outside of being a popular side character (of present) from Baptiste’s shirt story, what sort of relevance to the overarching story does he have? Ramattra is the leader of Null Sector. Yeah, okay - they’ve gone on record to say that they were developing a kit for Mauga, but it ended up fitting Sigma more, so they pushed him foward and gave ‘Mauga’s’ kit to Sigma.
So, what else then? I’m not saying he would be a bad hero, but, at least in my opinion, he kinda feels like he’s in a Max position: He’s a fan favourite, has appeared a few times in the lore (or, in Max’s case, actually in the game as well), and has a lot of potential for a hero kit. But has no real relevance to the plot. Max, arguably, has a lot more than Mauga, but that’s still what’s always held him back. Story relevance has always been a factor in terms of hero additions. Yeah, okay - we’ve had outliers like the Junker Queen, Kiriko and Lifeweaver. But they don’t tend to happen very often, outside of the few recent releases.
Closely related to and chasing down a Talon traitor that joined new overwatch? PvE reunion boss battle?
New Archives missions using Talon heroes in uniform including Baptiste as the support, Sombra as the DPS and Doomfist and Mauga tanks with possible Widowmaker replacing one of the tanks?
No relevance to plot.
A lot of the characters (the junkers, hammond, hanzo, kiriko, lifeweaver, ashe etc) dont have relevance to the plot.
As a member of Talon, Mauga automatically is more important to the story than they are.
