Season 14 Update Resolution Drop

Played Season 13 with custom graphics settings that are generally a mix of High and Medium. Update for Season 14 rolls out the following day, my settings are the exact same in the options menu but suddenly my game looks pixelated, like it’s in 480p running 30 FPS or something. I update my drivers and encounter the same problem. I think it might have to do with playing on my second monitor in Borderless Windowed mode, but I’m not sure. I was able to get the framerate up by manually selecting a higher frame rate in the OW settings, but I can’t get rid of the pixelated look.

Are you playing on a laptop? In the video settings for the GPU option, make sure the discrete GPU is selected.

I am playing on a laptop, but this solution has not solved the issue.

I’m honestly not even sure which one is the discrete GPU since they both say the GPU’s name but one has an asterisk next to it, but I’ve tried it with both and they both provide the same result after restarting.

You should probably select the GPU that does not have the asterisk. The game is choosing the integrated GPU by default (which it shouldn’t). You can use the performance tab in Task Manager to see which GPU the game is using because one of the GPU will have a higher utilization.

It’s all working fine now. Mostly my ignorance, but the change worked. Thanks!

Could you post your DXDiag? Blizz was asking for them in similar thread.

I have been struggling with this new update as well for the last few days. I have tried uninstalling the game and battle net, reinstalling drivers and all I had to do was select the GPU that did not have the asterisk. Took me forever to find this post and it has solved all my issues. Thank you and OW needs to make sure this never happens again.

Thank you. I was having the same issues and this fixed it all. I was getting so frustrated
