Say It with me, It's Hiiiiigh Noooon <3

But my lovely cowboy needs some love, I totally dig the new Deadeye changes but reducing the Fan the hammer damage is a bit too much. In the age of people shield bashing, throwing dynamites, having undying abilities and doing 130 dps per hit as Junkrat… I find myself to be at a severe disadvantage when not being able to hit constant headshots and defending myself from that cheeky Brig player with my good ol’ hammer.
Please Blizzard, Jesse McCree in my eyes is the most mechanically challenging character to play even more than Genji and I’ve been playing him since my first day in OW, the hero is just connected with me. I think and I execute, that’s the kinda bond I have with him and nerfing him like this just because some players fall victim to his combos is just unfair. I mean if you’re a Rein player and I kill you with McCree, it’s not my hammer’s fault or my hitscan skills at fault.

Call me a basic person, but there is beauty in simplicity (Hanzo :stuck_out_tongue:) and I just love McCree so much. Just pure raw good ol’ killing potential, I can just keep going on and on.

To be honest the Peacemaker should do 80 left and 60 right, but then… some tank player out there will be very angry :stuck_out_tongue: (Why do I say this? Because in almost every match I get Tbagged by an Orisa or a Rein for killing them every once in a while.)

Peace.

The latest buff to his FTH is then a little too much. Don’t worry after the nerf he can still melt squishies and tanks with his flash combo. The buffs you proposed is…interesting: he can one shot tracers and literally any squishies with damage boost from mid-range. If you’re struggling with dealing damage with his primary shots either means you need to put in a little more effort or you’re countered hard by the enemy. His kit just lacks mobility unlike all other hitscans but he can performs well in close combact he can still be insane when you can aim well. His recent buff to his ultimate in the PTR is insane.
His FTH need is justified. As you’ve stated that he’s mechanically demanding.

Hey there,
Thanks for replying to my post

I understand what you’re trying to say, but I’ll be honest. In most games getting damage boosted these days let alone finding a healer who is not a part of a pre made stack is kind of rare. Now this is just for me or for everyone I really cant say. But if the developers are only taking in the higher bracket of players who actually assist their team mates by doing damage boosts, playing Orisa properly or nano boosting the McCree instead of the genji who spams his nano blade then yes I completely agree that McCree will be one shotting squishes which might be a bit too much.
But in most game situations for me i.e solo queuing all day either in comp or in qp team play is very rare and I give you my word 9 out of 10 matches are all dps comps. I think it’s time the match making could be looked at because I really don’t see a way out of this unless I have friends playing with me or I’m just hitting headshots almost every time which you also know is very difficult.
I guess a fix could be to keep the damage numbers unchanged and instead give McCree a passive like an armor plate like Torb is getting. 250 hp like reaper but 50 of it is armor to increase his suitability, decrease the roll to 4 seconds to make him a bit more mobile and possibly make the flashbang set at a 1 full second of stun or reduce the cooldown to 8 seconds.
I’ll be honest, with the recent FTH change… I can actually fight a Brig and sometimes win which is just fantastic for me as I mostly always get cornered and even if I take down that brig player I’m doing my team a big help even if the next enemy gets me.

Now with all of this said I agree with most of what you said but I still think McCree needs a second look.

Yeeeeehaaaaaw!

Two aimbot ultis in the game, only one of them can target Riptire…

I hear you man… I hear you.

No, FtH requires 0 skill, and aiming is required by other heroes like Ana, Widow, Soldier, Baptiste, etc.
Not to mention that his ult is a literal auto-lock more useful than Soldier’s cause it takes less time and is burst damage.

I suggest we remove Deadeye and instead he gets Desperado: After his iconic “It’s high noon” while a mechanical horse spawns from somewhere, McCree rides it (speed+jump height bonus, horse takes no damage, must hit McCree) and in the meanwhile gets endless ammo. He also shouts “Yeeeehaaaaww!” on getting kills.

It’s hiiii-BangBangBang-gh Noon…

That’s what it is now. Imagine it after his buff that increases damage and kill time.

But nah, McCree is in a balanced state despite my adversion to him as a Pharah main. FTH needs to be reduced as it is, but the TTK buff to his Deadeye should be more than enough to compensate.

If we get it off, which most often, we don’t. Standing there glowing like a red hot poker usually gets us nailed or interrupted. The ultimate change does look promising.

My time has come

Hey,
Sorry to say this but if you and the person who liked your comment really think FTH requires 0 skill and McCree dosen’t require aiming skills, I’m guessing you must either be new or just have never played McCree. McCree is the most mechanically demanding character to play any way you look at him and I’m sure most of us would agree. And as the person who replied to your comment said it themselves, deadeye is not so easy to use as you might think it is.

Hey, I barely play McCree, he’s probably in my Top 3 least played heroes, but when I do play him, I notice how easy FtH is to use, there’s almost like a 1% chance that I don’t get a FtH off successfully by just stunning the target and pressing LB (I play on Xbox), and sometimes I don’t even have to stun the target, as long as they’re close enough, they’re dead; and I’ve experienced this second-hand too, both dying to FtH and seeing other McCree mains use it during a PoTG.

I know he requires mechanical skill, I was just mentioning how others also do, (Widow and Ana for example, which I do play a lot).

As for the ULT, I know it requires awareness and good positioning to pull off, but it doesn’t take away the fact that it is an auto-lock of burst damage.

You… I like.
Yeeeehaaaaaaaw!!!

I think he needs a rewards-based passive. Landing headshots gives him a recharge on his roll, or something. Reward the practice that it takes to get good as him by increasing his capabilities mid-fight.

That’s a good idea
