So, being a hard-light architect, Sanjay shares the same uniqueness as Symmetra in the fact that he has the ability to be a Tank, a DPS, and a Support. While I doubt we’ll see him for a little while, I still believe we will see Sanjay as a hero at some point in the future, especially since we’ve just had Ramattra announced. They’re in a similar boat, being the leader of their own organisations while having strong ties with Talon, Ramattra being reached out to by Doomfist, and Sanjay being a part of Talon’s Inner Circle.
So, because of that, I wanted to create 3 different concepts for Sanjay - A tank concept, Damage concept, and a Support concept. I’ll probably do them as separate posts, but for now, I’ll start with a Support concept, as the next hero after Ramattra will be a Support.
New Support Hero: Sanjay
General:
- Health: H:SH 100/100
- Movement Speed: 6m/s
Weapon: Rakshasa
Named after a demon in Hindu mythos, Sanjay’s hand-crafted hand cannon shoots heavy slugs of hard-light at his foes, exploding on impact. His weapon deals heavy damage, but has a long reload time and slow rate of fire.
- Maximum Ammo: 8
- Damage (Impact): 45
- Damage (Splash): 15
- Splash Radius: 3m
- Fire Rate: 1 per second
- Reolad: 1.3 seconds
- Headshot: 1.5x
Weapon (Secondary Fire): Gauntlet
Sanjay wears a Gauntlet made out of hard-light on his off-hand, granting him enhanced quick melee attacks. Additionally, Sanjay can use his Secondary Fire to let out a wave of energy from the palm of his hand, healing allies in front of him.
- Healing: 50 HP/s
- Range: 10m (Length), 3m (Width)
- Ammo: 300 Resource
- Fire Rate: 30 Resources/second
Quick Melee Augement:
Sanjay’s quick melee has a longer reach, pulling enemies at close range into it and then sending them backwards with a shock wave.
- Range: 8m
- Damage (Maximum Distance): 10
- Damage (<6m): 50
- Pull Range: 6m
- Damage (Repulsion): 5
- Knock back: 10m
Passive: Hard-light Mastery
Sanjay’s mastery over hard-light allows him to focus on other aspects of the fight, without worry. Every time Sanjay uses an ability, his current active cooldowns are reduced by 1 second.
Additionaly, Sanjay’s Shield Recharge Delay is shorter than the average model.
- Shield Recharge Delay: 1 second
Ability 1: Prism
Sanjay encases an enemy in a prism of hard-light, disabling them entirely, but rendering them immune to taking damage. Any damage the Prism takes is reflected onto nearby enemies.
Sanjay can also use Prism on an ally to very briefly protect them from damage.
- Range: 15m
- Duration (Enemy): 2 seconds
- Duration (Ally): 0.5 seconds
- Damage Reduction: 100%
- Cooldown: 12 seconds
Ability 2: Photon Aegis
Sanjay holds up his Gauntlet into a defensive stance, creating an unstable field of energy, blocking a percentage of incoming damage. Damage blocked by Photon Aegis is reflected back to the attacker, and charges up Sanjay’s Gauntet, refilling his healing resource.
Sanjay can use Photon Aegis without a cooldown, but the longer he holds the Aegis, the longer the recovery time. If Photon Aegis is destroyed, it briefly staggers Sanjay and is put on a cooldown.
- Barrier Diameter: 8m
- Damage Reduction: 60%
- Damage Reflect: 30% of damage (Before applying increases/decreases)
- Barrier Health: 500 Shields
- Resource Gain (Passive): 10 Resources/second
- Resorice Gain: 50 per 30 damage blocked
- Cooldown: 0.5 seconds
- Recovery Time: 0.5-2 seconds
- Cooldown (On destroyed): 10 seconds
- Stun Duration (On destroyed): 0.4 seconds
Ultimate: Photon Field
Sanjay creates a large field of energy in front of him, greatly slowing all enemies and projectiles inside the field. Allies inside the field receive constant healing and take reduced damage.
- Ultimate Cost: 1,850 points
- AOE: 12m Long, 4m Wide
- Slow (Movement Speed): 60%
- Slow (Projectile Speed): 40%
- Healing: 70 HP/s
- Damage Reduction: 30%
- Duration: 8 seconds
This is mostly just for fun, but lemme know what you think. I don’t really know much about game design, so these numbers are just place holders; don’t take the values too seriously. They’re open to adjustment.
