Same old garbage

I get my season high once again and now about 5 games in a row my teams are total dog $hit and we get completely rolled every game.

When things starts to become negative. Turn off the game before you lose more points. If you don’t you’ll only attract more negative energy and you’d feel even worse.

Just play a different game, things like this don’t happen in other games.

Tilting is a major prob. I was ana a while back and we had a genji that was doing pretty well in my opinion that the team started flaming. We would have won but they started yelling at him so he went widow and then we lost. The genji had a nanoblade POTG killing like 5 ppl at the end and instead we got a widow that couldn’t get any shots for overtime.

Also there are lots of ppl on alts working on specific weaknesses like say they want to learn dps or a specific dps like doomfist. Once you flame that person they put you on avoid for next game and pull out there 4500 SR main hanzo for revenge and you didn’t even realize it happened.

There is LITERALLY nothing more satisfying then doing that. On my gold alt that I was using to practice doomfist (it’s my practice heroes I’m not good at account), I had a teammate that proceeded to call me trash. I avoided him as teammate and got him in my next game. He picked reaper (I guess he thought I was going to play doomfist again), but no, i decided i was going to destroy him and picked one of my best heroes (Ashe).

He was actually playing pretty well, ended up getting a card at the end of the game for 70%+ kill participation. But I just shut him down every time. He would get like a 4 K on my team then I would proceed to kill him and wipe the rest of his team out, winning every fight. He kept trying to swap heroes to find something that he could kill me with and kept trying to hard focus me, I kept killing him every time.

Sorry bud, your gold dps cant compete with my diamond Ashe . If he hadn’t been toxic to me in my prior game, I would have carried on practicing doomfist and he most likely would have won the game. But he had to go all toxic and motivate me to go full tryhard in my game against him

The best part of the story was in my previous game, he asked me to swap “because I am trash at doomfist” so I jokingly told him “sorry, I’m a doomfist one trick”. In the game against him, when I picked ashe, we started out on attack and I literally wiped his entire team in the first 30 seconds to cap the point. He typed in all chat “doomfist one trick my butt”. THAT was the point where he realized how much trouble he was in :slightly_smiling_face:

You can’t always just blame your team. It’s easy to look at something from an outside perspective, so to you, you’re probably noticing your team making a ton of mistakes. However I guarantee your team is seeing you make similar mistakes.

Consider that you are place where you deserve to be placed. If I gave you a GM account right now (I won’t - pls don’t suspend me blizz), I guarantee that within a few weeks you’d be right back down to platinum.

It happens in every competitive ladder, you get to a new high, then lose games if you can’t maintain it. The problem with Overwatch is that 1 or 2 bad teammates will lose a game, making it seem like the loses are stomps. But this is normal, all competitive ladders have win and loss streaks.

or maybe, don’t start watching your teammates play and do your best? to me it seems like you’re throwing by getting hung up on every tiny mistake your team makes. and everyone makes mistakes in all ranks instead of looking for enemies making mistakes and punishing them.

every time you climb you go full ostrich mode and throw your way back down.

IT’S NOT YOUR TEAMS!

and guess what, things never change if you don’t change.

edit: oh and if you’re vocal about your discontent of your teammates you’re not just soft throwing but actually completely massively throwing by tilting your team on top of it.

But just how many competitive game you have seen where people are actively arguing that the matchmaker handycaps them/puts in forced lose streaks and all that jazz.

I played in some competitive pvp games and i dont think that apart from OW there is any game with this problem.

CSGO for one, has a lot of people in game blaming every loss streak on their team. The only reason Overwatch has these conspiracy theories is because teammates have a much bigger effect on the outcome of the game. It is also a lot easier to notice your teams mistakes than your own, this leads to a lot of people blaming the matchmaker for “giving them bad teams” after a win streak. When in fact, they just can’t carry their team any more due to the higher level of play.

My only point here is that people are making radical assumptions based on the observation of loss streaks, and turning those assumptions into theories that the deem true because they can’t accept that they just need to play and improve more. These theories/accusations have no actual proof to back them up other than “they could do it so obviously they are doing it”. Blizzard gains absolutely nothing from you not climbing in rank, accept that, and maybe you can climb rather than shift the blame to people who have better things to do than give attention to attention seekers. Stop taking the easy way out.

ever think you start losing because you’re reaching your season high and you might not be good enough to stay at that rank? just a thought.

I guess we can thank this to the reluctance of Blizzard. By not making the matchmaker parameters and our own scores easily accessable and viewable it just generates a nice feeding group for such theories.

BLizzard cant really gain anything from such system but that in itself doesnt mean they dont have it in place. This wouldnt be the first game with questionable design choices what in no way serve the devs and only frustrate the players.

The alt accounts also help these myths to keep alive because every dps player who plays at plat but cannot climb out from bronze with the same heroes on an alt help to question just how good the system is and what hidden mechanics it may have.

So you expect to keep on breaking your season high infinitely?

These so called “lose-streaks” is nothing but you getting thrown into sligthly more difficult games and if you’ve reached some sort of peak it’s inevitable that you eventually get fatigued, lose focus or being pushed to the max and when that happens you often tilt.

If you grind out a 20 game session or similar it’s far more likely that you have a better win ratio in the first half of those games with the exception of perhaps the first 1-2 games unless you’ve done warm up on another account, dm etc.

The higher you fly the harder you fall.
SR is an estimate of skill level, not some sort of mmo point system in which you always climb by investing time.
And it’s likely that your SR peak is slightly above what you should have because you pretty much always climb back to where you should be in terms of SR and from there you sometimes get lucky or have exceptional games above your average.

If they did release stats at this point, people would just obsess over them more and create new theories, the only way to with the conspiracy theory game is to not play, as most of the people that believe this stuff would never accept any evidence from them as true.

It also doen’t mean that they do have it in place. To put it in programming terms possible != probably (!= means does not equal for non-coders). The only thing I’m saying here is that these blind accusations have zero merit, and so many logical counter arguments that believing in them is actually delusional.

This 100%, streaks are a part of every single competitive ladder. The only thing that makes people think they are forced is the games heavy reliance on teamwork that can make it seem like the system is just giving you bad teams.

People needs to take reponsibility on their own game play instead of blaming all others. Maybe it’s you who are dogsh1t like all of us…

Its much harder to create a conspiracy theory when all the data is public but since its not conspiracies can loom over freely.

Some yes but we dont just have these blind and partial accusitions, we had plenty well constructed breakdowns on some of these theories and in all seriousness the most popular counter arguments were also just as meritless and countered that its no suprise you cant get a legit discussion.
