is blizzard retarded? comp rank makes absolutely no sense, i started playing with a friend last night and we played the same exact matches only i was support and he was damage, at the end of the night he gained 120 more SR in total than i did. what kind of retarded system is this? overwatch developers are unironically braindead if they think this system is working well.

found the activision blizzard shill. it makes no sense the way comp currently works, and i was carried by no one. if anything i was carrying. why should i get less sr because i’m a healer? wow rating system worked better than this trash
SR at below Diamond is earned by how well you perform on that hero in comparison to those in similar ranks, if you aren’t gaining as much SR your friend is performing better than the average user of that hero whereas you performed below that benchmark.

What I find a bit fishy is that a couple weeks ago I played a game as LĂşcio, in high Bronze. Team averages were very similar to the current SR at that time if I remember. I ended the game with 4 career highs on that hero (eliminations, healing, objective kills and objective time). 40-something kills and over 20k healing. We won the game.
I was given 18 SR.
I lost the next game, and ended up losing 26 SR.
I would have understood if my SR was 1400 and we were playing against a team average of 700s with my team averaging 2100 but that wasn’t the case. It was very similar to where we “should have been”.
How common is it for bronze players to be getting stats like that? I should have gotten around 25 for that game. Something didn’t seem right. It is at that point I stopped playing because no matter how hard I tried (some people boast about having to AFK in spawn to drop SR as it’s that difficult), I seemed to be pushed down. Something to note is that I had played Lúcio games in the past where I have performed much worse but gotten more SR at the end.
It doesn’t make sense. (And no I’m not saying I should be gold or plat. I believe I should be around mid to high silver). It just seemed impossible so I gave up.

He played better than you/ had a higher mmr. It is totally fair since if your friend played 120 sr worth better than you he is either smurfing or just way better than the rank you were playing at while you are simply not.
First of all, you don’t use that word.
Secondly, this happens when your friends deserves a better rank and you don’t. In other words, you were getting carried. Try playing without your friend maybe you won’t climb at all.
Your mate has better stats on his role than you (compared to others in your rank), or he has a higher mmr rating than you.
Don’t take it so personaly, get to diamond and there will be no sr adjustment
That doesn’t matter at all. It’s not much if the game lasted long. The question is how much healing/damage/elims did you do per minute instead of overall.
Did you do 20k healing in half an hour or 4 minutes?
Oh I completely forgot about the per 10 thing. That makes perfect sense now and explains it!

Don’t be mad at the system. All it shows is that your friend is better compared to others in that role in the rank you are in. The system is working fine, you aren’t.
Maybe he started higher than you?
Surprisingly common if you are finding yourself often in the spawn room.
One of the first things to learn to start to minimize that loss is to focus on dying less.
The more time you spend alive, the more opportunity you have to influence the match toward a positive outcome.
Think about it:
- As a support having an extra minute for healing surely has to be a good thing?
- Or an extra minute to do even more damage to the enemy team as DPS
- What about an extra minute in a fight as a tank increasing your chance of winning?
That 1 minute is pretty much just 2 deaths. Think how many minutes you are throwing away every time you die.
