S76 gay...? But... Ytho...?

No, we don’t. lmao…

I completely agree, friend. It felt like an attempt to get social media to talk about Overwatch again.

I think people are frustrated and worried about this topic, because they’re worried that Overwatch will evolve into game forcing someone’s political propaganda ideals on to the player base.
And I think we all know that games are meant to be a break from life and outside issues.
Another probable reason for why people feel the need to discuss this, is because Blizzard was put in a bad spotlight; so by releasing Soldier as queer it makes them look good in the media. However by pulling this sudden stunt, that’s why certain people think that it was a forced decison and is abusing the LGBTQ community as an easy way to cover up their bad press.

I understand all these points but to me it’s just reaching. Theres a reason why the heroes almost talk about their personal lives (with the exception of tracers Emily lines.) If they gave soldier voice lines about being gay then people have a right to be worried, but all they did was just confirm his sexuality outside of the game. If you didnt read lore you wouldn’t know soldier or tracer were gay, which means they aren’t “pushint” anything. I agree that the timing of this release is a little fishy, but they do plan these releases many months in advance. Blizzard could not have foreseen the ellie controversy which everyone seems to say they’re covering. They werent even a part of it. This short story took more than just 5 days to make, and most likely began production in like August-september (before blizzard started getting hate.) Most companies when they plan on releasing something will bit delay the release unless something is wrong with the product itself. Blizzard most likely didnt expect for this to go wrong in the way it did, because they gave us what we had been wanting: lore.

Hum. You would be scared how many gays that are not even near the stereotype spectrum are out there.
The problem is people just mark what midia tells them and what they notice socially, but that does not represent the truth of all. Repeat to yourself “What midia shows and my perception about gays is not the reality.”

I agree, the timing was bad. They definitely should waited or delayed the lore release event until the controversy died down a bit.
But they didn’t and I think personally it just made their situation a bit worse.
