Silver… I only get matched with higher ranked players on both teams. I usually DPS, but have been trying everything.
I’ve been playing for 19 months. Have always won around 50% of my matches overall. Just last season I had a 59% winrate in comp and hit Gold for the first time.
Pretty sure you could, too. I’m just (mostly) only being matched against way, way, way better players than me for the most part.
It’s just Season 3. They started mixing eloes… so of course, the lower elo players like me are just always the worst players and will naturally have the most losses. Imagine ONLY playing in matches with people 2-5 tiers higher than your peak. So yeah, if you haven’t been through it, of course you don’t know what it’s like.

Hmm. Playing heroes with good value no matter what, may be a good idea to try out.
At Silver, maybe going heroes like Moira, Junkrat, Torb, Pharah can yield good results.
Also try and focus on your own play, and especially positioning and engagements you choose to take and when not to take them.
Having consistently low winrate, is unfortunately not a result of bad match-making I believe. If you play bad, you will be put lower. If you keep playing with people who perform better than you, you will be put even lower.
I’m not saying you’re bad, nor that you’re throwing intentionally. Just that if you keep losing, you’re not being placed with the right people (unless, you are in fact, trolling).

I appreciate all of what you said, but the matching this season is a 180 degree turnaround from every other season. My peak for tank is bronze and I get matched against people that are literally “masters challengers”

Never said I was good, never blamed other people, simply said the matching in S3 is completley different. I know you wanna have fun w that… go for it dude. Sad people like you are out there.
but even if spoonie wasn’t the best player losing that many games means the matchmaker is broken
i am not a new players and have had terrible terrible loss streaks in season 3, way worse than any previous season

The match making is perfectly functional. It’s just a coincidence that a ton of players who previously won about 50% of their matches suddenly started losing 90% of them! You may think this means the matchmaking got broken but it was actually cosmic rays from a solar flare entering players brains and making them worse at video games.

I have a very different experience, with this time around I feel like more matches are fair.
Try and keep playing games to get the MMR to adjust itself correctly for you.

Their are obvious outliers when someone actively tries to lose. Or if they are a GM playing their little brothers bronze account.

I’ve literally never tried to lose a match. I also have only quit one match in my life. I never blame teammates, either. All of your assumptions are typical and false. I know you can’t fathom the idea of someone else’s experience being different than what you’ve been exposed to, but that’s your own lack of intellect and nothing else. You “think” you know what you’re talking about, yet you don’t. Quite common, really.

Nice try but if you have 10% WR you are leaving games. Those count as losses. I have about a 12% winrate because I don’t play games against widow so each one of those counts as a loss.

I never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever leave games. I’m not good at OW, but one thing I take pride in is that I never leave matches. Ever. Again, another person that “thinks” they know what they’re talking about, and simply doesn’t. I have a 4 endorsement level, I actually usually do pretty well in comparison to the rest of my team and I’m always positive and encouraging. You can’t have a 4 endorsement level and leave matches.
Dude, it only happened this season. Every other season was normal. Yes, I suck. I am a peak gold dps, peak bronze tank, peak silver support. But my OVERALL QP record, lifetime is 54% win rate. Overall comp, used to be 38%, but I finally climbed last 2 seasons and was 59% win rate last season. Just started gaming for the first time in my life 19 months ago. So yes, I am low skill. If that’s what you want to hear, no prob, bro, I’m low skill.
