RTX 2080 Ti Benchmarks?

Anybody got the RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti Benchmarks yet? I’m aiming to hit 4k120 and not sure if 1 card or NVLink is needed to hit it.

PS. Upgrading from a 1060, and I can either go 1080 Ti Sli or 2080 Ti

Pretty sure you can find some stuff on yt just searching “RTX 2080 overwatch” things like that.

From what the SEO gives me at least, all are fake.

Mmmh can’t be helped I guess, there has to be some real things around huh…

maybe?

i have a 2080 and an i7 6700k and just quickly tried it out

i set overwatch to 4k via geforce experience and had medium-ish settings and got about 120-140 fps in the training range

so i guess if you set the game to low and 4k you can get consistent 120 fps

not sure if it’s worth though, i rather have 1080p 300fps

edit: screenshot of settings

and training range minimum fps

if that’s the best a new $700 card is capable of, then I daresay that’s money well spent

Not worth buying a 2080 at all.

2080ti is only worth if you are super rich & even then it is strictly for 1440p & 4k as it has nice gains there from the 1080ti.

Hey, rx480 4670k at 4ghz. 1440p @ 110 on high in overwatch, I do dip to low 90s. Amd doesnt fair well with ambient occlusion so i turn that off. U dont need strong gear to run overwatch. It was a game designed for mass numbers so they made it easy to run.

It comes down to ur wallet. Is it worth to u? I think the main reason to get a new gen card would be to run games with new tech, and those have yet to come really.

The 2080TI is promising for VR.

As of now even the most biggest Nvidia fanboy youtubers such as linus and jayz2cent’s are warning people to think twice before they buy these cards.

Since they don’t actually have a real purpose yet there is currently like 0 games that support ray tracing and even when there are the performance with ray tracing on is like 30 fps on a 2080ti.

Best to buy a 1080ti now & wait until the next line of cards if you are smart.

Do you already have the Monitor?
It’s been a history standard to just stay away from SLI.
Are you sure OW supports it? Some past threads suggest it does not.
in Fact, here is your old thread.

If you’re going to mostly play Overwatch, then two 1080 ti sli if not then 2080 ti. It’s a hard decision because sli is supported by few games if you play them but getting 2080 ti is not really worth the money if you’re not going to use ray tracing. I’m not sure if 1080 ti alone can hit 4K 120fps with settings tweaked. If it does, you can considered that.

this

just another in a long line of examples where the tech industry puts the cart before the horse by releasing and hyping a cutting edge product before there’s any content to take advantage of it

see:

HDTVs came out long before networks started commonly broadcasting in HD.
4K TVs came out long before 4K content was readily available.
First gen dual-core CPUs came out long before applications were made to take advantage of them.

Considering overwatch has absolutely piss poor optimization on the 10 series card I’d expect that trend to continue and you’ll barely see any improvement. I went from a normal 980 to a 1080ti and I only gained about 10fps. I can’t get a steady 240fps with a 6700k and 1080ti, it’s just sad how poorly this game is optimized.

What ram do you have btw? Overwatch see’s massive gains using dual channel ddr4 at like 3200mhz.

16gb ddr @ 3000mhz

CPU is overclocked to 4.6 on all cores as well but it makes virtually no difference.

This benchmark shows 165 fps with 2080ti on 4k Ultra. Pair that with 144hz 4k monitor and you’re golden. Be wary of CPU bottlenecks thou.

Setting the graphics to epic is insanely stupid if you want super high FPS, there is almost no noticable difference between high and epic, except the framerate, well, that’s about half.

Sorry, not a card nut. But this game has never really needed a power house card. I ran this game maxed on an old 660TI. Maybe I’m missing something about the debate. I upgraded to a 1060 last year and there was really no difference. I guess I’m asking why it matters with a top of the line card. I’m sure it would run the game flawlessly.

We’re talking 3840 × 2160 p
