My computer has been down so I just got a chance to start playing Overwatch again recently. I don’t know if there are others like me but I never minded having a weird put together team whether it be 6 dps or 3 tanks 2 healers and 1 dps. There where many games where my team won or lost by a slim margin and those felt awesome. Now I play it it’s like World of Warcraft with the roll queue and incentives. It’s repetitive and less exciting. Is there anyone else who got excited in a game of 6 dps and thinking “we might win”. I feel like the games are lopsided (more than before). I feel like I’m on teams with some people who aren’t enjoying themselves because they may be playing a character they don’t want to, to get a loot box. I thought the old was was more fun, more exciting, and the matching was more accurate. Thanks
My view on the Role Queue is this:
As an overall decision, I’m absolutely fine with it, even the QP role queue. I’ve been so frequently annoyed when games are an absolute waste of my time because we have 6 bloody DPS, and it’s clearly not working but no one will switch to stop it. The ‘its just QP’ mentality, in other words, and it’s a bit of behavior I absolutely despise. Some of us don’t want to have to deal with the stress of comp, but we want to have an environment where one can still play an actual match.
Have they implimented it perfectly? No, I don’t think so. That could simply be because the team has proven to be unreliable at best in regards to basic programming (though they’re certainly not the worst dev team currently working, hello DICE), or that they simply didn’t test it, but I think it’s fine how it is.
