Roll mid air should compensate with 200hp

I never really bothered with the extra hp, I thought it made him stand out with

Widow being a squishy sniper, a glass canon

Ashe being an in between

Soldier changing Ashe’s burst high damage with low more consistent damage

McCree being bulkier Ashe with less range, mainly meant for flankers

Both widow Ashe and soldier have an ability to reposition / get away, however McCree was for reposition only, with roll in air it’s a get away in certain spots as well as just a great mobility tool

McCree was never meant to be mobile, so why is he?
If he’s gonna be mobile, why is he bulky?

It’s on the time where McCree truly has it all, from the 4 I mention he’s the only one with a hard stun, he’s the bulkiest one and now he’s mobile as well

Before you would need a pocket Mei or lucio to reach some wacky spots that would help you, this was fine as it incentived teamwork while forcing a pick, now he can just do it because the early year balance team thought it was a good idea

Conclusion
Remove mid air roll or health, he does not need both, he shouldn’t have both

Or you know, let bastion walk faster as he’s detrasforming, he could use this McCree buff

If they say he needs the extra 25 hp to survive a dive, then just give him 175hp and 25 armor.

McCree’s hitbox size is 57% larger than Ashe per https://i.imgur.com/Z3gJnqr.jpg and is one of the easiest DPS to kill in the game.

I don’t think he needed roll in air, but the extra 25 hp is certainly more important.

I’m down for that.
If you reduce is hitbox a bit or to be more in line with other heroes.
And increases his fire rate just a tad.

More like people assume what my balance opinions are and roll with it.
Im one of the more reasonable people in these forums that tries to use as much common sense as possible.

I bet the people that hate my “takes” , think i want McCree to do 100 damage per shot, 1000 damage Fan of the hammer, 300 HP, etc.

Without thinking too much about it…I would want something like this:
200 hp McCree (175 HP and 25 armor)
Smaller hitbox
Fire rate increased to 0.47 or 0.46 from 0.50
Range increased to 40 meters


If i was going even further i would get rid of Fan of the hammer and give him something else.
I dont use it much. Only bad McCrees rely on fan all game to get most of their kills.

Cassidy has no mobility and dies a lot! I think he should have 175hp and 50 armor, then he’ll finally be playable /s

I’m fine with a ROT buff, but they would have to nerf health and flash.

Exactly. I’ve been a mccree main for nearly 5 years, absolutely nothing would be lost if fan the hammer was removed. Good mccree’s don’t need it to win 1v1’s.

While people use this statement they do also forget about how broken his AD spam is.

Hitbox also doesn’t matter when he 2 Taps you from 20m+ anyway.

I think they should increase cassidy’s effective range to the same level as bap (25m). Because right now, even though cassidy does way more burst damage than bap at close-range, beyond 20m, bap does more damage than cassidy.

Either that or increase the distance of his combat roll so that he can escape or chase low HP enemies better.

He could use a minor fire rate increase buff as well, since his gun (primarily fire) feels a little clunky to me. But I haven’t figured out whether that’s due to the way his gun fires (the animation) or the fire rate. I don’t play him much since DPS queues are too long.

Fan the hammer (right click ability) has always felt the most clunkiest ability in his kit. That ability just feels so pointless to have and is only good for shield break or when you stun enemies. But constantly right clicking just to break shields doesn’t feel fun at all. Even just manually shooting the shield with ashe, bap or soldier: 76’s gun is less annoying than constantly right clicking enemy shields as cassidy (which feels kind of stupid).

Iddqd , great Cassidy player and overall hitscan player before OW even existed was pretty sad with how they’ve balanced him. Can’t disagree.

That is to balance out ashe moving way slower while scoped in. Her and widow have small hitboxes because of this.

While i admit Mcree’s head is a bit too big for hit model, his main weakness was always being vulnerable without flash, which has been almost entirely removed with the addition of air roll, 225 hp, and roll being on a 6 second cd.

200hp for a 8% smaller head. That’s what needs to happen at this point.

Well, he is a cowboy with a robotic arm, after all.
